This is the first thing survivors of domestic violence see when they walk into the Weaver Domestic Violence Center. Carter Andrews' 'Music City Faces' is a powerful reflection of our community and helps us realize that anyone, from any walk of life, can be impacted by or become a victim of domestic violence. Today, we want to "introduce" you to Marie and her children - some of our newest Weaver Domestic Violence Center residents. Marie is a loving mother of three young children. For years, she suffered abuse and degradation at the hands of her husband. Still, she wanted to preserve her marriage for the sake of the children. A few weeks ago, she got sick, took a nap, and awakened to her husband beating her. Fortunately, her oldest son called 9-1-1. The police arrived just in time, and with a phone call to the YWCA, she was given hope. Keep following us to learn more about Marie's story and a unique and vital program for survivors of domestic violence. If you are able, please consider donating today. See link in profile.
