IC: The Launch

The heat of the midday sun beat down on the line of young soldiers, standing quiet and at the ready for the end of their lives on Earth. Various men and women in service uniforms, some of whose clothing was so adorned with accolades that they must have been carrying pounds of extra weight, eyed the children as they made ready for their shuttle ride to Battle School. Walking back and forth, one by one, their commanding militaristic presences imbued the entire group with a rigidity not unlike the metal frame of the ship.

An officer, indistinguishable from the rest save for his grey jacket and hat embellished with the International Fleet logo, stepped up to a podium and leaned into the connected microphone. "Welcome, future commanders. Welcome, tacticians and pilots and those who will one day save our world from the Formic invasion. You are the generation we have been waiting for. You were chosen for your multivariate talents, chosen because we believe you have the intellect necessary to lead, chosen because the Formics might come tomorrow, and we need you. At Battle School, you will learn to work with others in your launch group and become unified as one. Because only together as one race can we overcome the Formic threat. Today, you leave behind your homes, your families and cultures and countries. Those no longer matter. Today, you become a launch group of Battle School. Never forget that."

The man stepped down from the podium and moved to stand at the entrance of the shuttle, acknowledging each child as one by one, slowly, they embarked on their journey, unsure of what was to come.

Hello, followers and roleplayers of Battle School! Admin Dash speaking. It's wonderful to see all the interaction your characters have had so far, I really enjoy reading your thought-out posts and replies to each other.

I'll be making an IC post later today that describes the actual launch. From then on, Battle School is yours to roleplay as you wish, with little interaction from me. I'll be reading all of your posts, of course, and if you need any guidance I'll assume the role of a random Battle School administrator.

Consider applications to be open until I make a post saying that we have enough roleplayers. After a few weeks, if you feel comfortable in applying for a second character, you are more than welcome to do so!

Again, please tag all posts with battleschool rp so that everyone can find and read them!

Battle School Lineup (OOC)

Greetings Launchies,

Here is our first launch list. Please set up blogs or sideblogs for your assigned character, follow this blog with that account, and begin posting. I'll post an official introduction/start post that you can work off of. Be sure to interact with the other kids in your launch group, or with Battle School children if you're roleplaying an adult. It's up to you how you want to begin with your character.

Exactly a week from now, the first Launchie group (that is everyone who has applied as of this post) will leave for Battle School. Until then, feel free to interact with other characters or however you'd like to begin developing your roleplay. It's entirely up to you.
