Ritual De Amor
menú
Llena el aire con mis antojos
Prende el fuego en mi corazon
Que te acerquen todos los ojos
Que si te muestra pasion
Bailame, sin parar
Vuelvete tormenta en mi mar
Que te miren asi, irradiando calor
Entregate a este ritual de amor
Tu meneo vuelve loco a cualquiera
Traes la rumba en tus caderas
Puro sabor
Ya no aguanto este deseo
Es que el atarme te obliga
Yo daria mi vida solo por ti
Enredarme entre tu cuerpo
Y tus labios invadir
Tan siquiera un momento
Serlo todo en ti (tu sentir)
Rie, baila, sueltate el pelo
Todos quieren verte bailar
Tu hermosura enciende los sueños
Provoca ganas de amar
Negate mucho mas
La miel de tu veneno me da
Tengo ya deseo en ti
Despeinado el dolor
Haz de mi tu esclavo de amor

Yanni feat Ender Thomas - Bajo el cielo de Noviembre
Forbidden Saints
Last night we were fortunate enough to be able to go see the Forbidden Saints at the Nokia Theatre in LA. I saw the announcement on my Facebook feed a few weeks ago from one of the Yanni orchestra members that I follow. I had never heard of Forbidden Saints but they are a group of Armenian and Latin American musicians that perform together sometimes and a lot of the members were from Yanni’s orchestra. I hesitated about whether or not I should go but then I saw that Nathan Pacheco, Chloe Lowery and Ender Thomas were all going to be guest performers and when I saw them post this selfie of themselves, that sealed it for me and I had to get tickets.
I am so fortunate to be only an hour and a half from LA where I can go to these shows where sometimes, like this, and like the Samvel Yervinyan performance I went to, it’s a one time thing. They’re not exactly touring, as the Forbidden Saints have only had one other big concert, which was in Armenia (as far as I could tell from the Internet which surprisingly doesn’t have a lot on them).
ANYWAY, I didn’t really know what to expect... I was looking forward to the Voices’ performances and I saw them post another selfie on the way to the airport that Charlie Adams (Yanni’s drummer) was going to be there as well so I was looking forward to seeing him and that turned out to be a big highlight of the night.
So it was going along pretty much exactly as I had expected from watching their promotional clips and Ender, Chloe and Nathan each sang one song, and then Charlie came out and did his 10 minute drum solo which was epic as always, and my 3 year old daughter was loving it, she’s a huge Charlie fan. See the vine here. And after that Hova Burian did a crazy bass solo, Victor Espinola was awesome on the harp (Suri loved him too, and his “wild” hair), and then they introduced their friend Zhang Shaobo on violin to close out the night.
The introduced Shaobo and said he had come all the way from China but we didn’t see anyone come out on stage. Soon we heard this beautiful music filling the entire theatre. I looked around and finally noticed him walking down the aisle through the audience playing a red electric violin. It was awesome! The song he was playing was all double stops and sounded a little bit like the Pirates of the Caribbean song. Anyway, then he got up on stage and started playing a different song, and then it started getting crazy. He started playing the violin behind his head, then behind his back, then he actually gave the bow to an audience member and played it while the audience member held the bow, then he did a bunch more crazy tricks playing this song and then went and did a duel with Armen Movsessian.
I got my picture taken with him after the show but I still wasn’t sure of his name. This morning I had to do some research and get creative with my Google searches. Finally I found him on a Chinese news website and thanks to Google Translator I found him. Here we are after the show!
I tried to find some videos online so you could see/hear his beautiful playing but I couldn’t find much. This video is the closest, most concise to what we saw.
And here I am with Ender Thomas who was so sweet and gracious to the fans. He even commented on my Instagram :)
And we almost met Charlie Adams, he was hanging back on stage too meeting fans but the Nokia Theatre security wasn’t having it. We were lucky to meet Ender.
I realize my writing in this post is poor at best, partly due to the fact that I’ve been interrupted no less than a dozen times by my daughters! And I’m out of practice and just trying to get everything down while I remember it. And now it’s time to leave for my lesson! Ahh, always in a rush.
