I met Galgalo Waqo in Waye Godha, a village in Sololo, at Kenya's border with Ethiopia. He's lived a full life, from working as a farm hand in Githunguri when much younger, to leading a self help group in Sololo today. He doesn't just sit around waiting for age to catch up with him, but is quite active, encouraging neighbours and friends to form self help groups, save as little as Kshs20/- and put it in a pool where the money can be used to benefit members. It's not just lip service: his group has over Kshs200,000/- in the account and they plan to buy a boda boda to help them grow their savings. This is thanks to the training he's received from @food4thehungry #endingpovertytogether #FHKenya #Marsabit #Sololo #WayeGodha #african_portraits (at Sololo, Eastern, Kenya)
