There are many times in our lives when God calls us to go somewhere or do something. He wants us to step out in faith in a situation that seems extremely ridiculous so He can amaze us with what He does. Most of the time we miss out on these exciting opportunities because we are unwilling to move--or let Him move through us. When He asks us to move, He never asks us to go alone. SENDorGO Story 002 @speaklife_17 When God says GO. GO. When he says SEND. SEND. In my case it was GO. My Dad had always reminded me of when I was 5 or 7 and I told him God wanted me to be a missionary. I turned 12 - thus old enough to go. Then God put it on the heart of someone to send us 2000 dollars to go to Belize that summer; and God always has provided a way and opportunity to go each year after that. If we are a willing like Nehemiah saying "Send me, I'll go!", God will give us opportunities no doubt! :) So GO or SEND. I dropped out of high school my sophomore year. I was not in a happy place in my life. I grew up as a Christian, and unfortunately my early teen years I forgot that. One day I woke up from a good nights rest and decided I needed to make a change. I wanted to make a difference even if it was just something small, and I wanted God to be proud of me. The same day I woke up feeling like I needed to change...so I booked a ticket to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I had two months to prepare, get finances, go to the travel Dr., and anything else I had to do before I took this two week trip by myself. I was able to start a go fund me, and raise enough money to get 11 kids in a local orphanage in Haiti off to their very first day of school. Seeing the faces on those children touched me in ways I can't explain. At that very moment I knew God had lead me to Haiti for a purpose. I was only 16 years old when I went to Haiti, and almost 4 years later I consider it to be one of the very best thing I've done... not only for the people of Haiti that I was fortunate enough to help, but also for myself. When I came back home to New Jersey the smiles on the children's faces when they got shoes and books for school were embedded into my brain. Those children and God have inspired me to become a better person. I got my GED shortly after my trip to Haiti, and now I am in college as a journalism major.
