oh. is all the hate for shj joking? im new to the canon and i was so confused lol. i really like sung hyunjae and i thought everyone hated him so i didn't how to interact or post about him ;_;
I don’t know about ‘all’ the hate being a joke, but based on the amount of shipping material SHJ is in? Yeah, I’d say a lot of the ‘hate’ is actually affection.
He’s a hard man to love openly, and once you read even a few hundred chapters you start to keep a tally of the number of times he has inflicted you with migraines. The man simply cannot be easy and low-maintenance.
(Of course, I respect all of that, because I relate, and I feel that the people who are hardest to love because of the pain involved can also be the most fulfilling to love because they need it so much.)
I feel like I don’t see many analysis posts of SHJ right now, but when I first got on tumblr I tried to be thorough about sorting through tags and old posts to find gems. If you look hard enough, you’ll find it— or you can make it yourself!
I, for one, would be a delighted audience to more SHJ material.
Anyways, affectionately hating on Sung Hyunjae seems to be fandom-traditional at this point. I empathize with all of the work Yoojin put into loving him, though, so I try to keep it tame ^^*
