Great name, great cover. I thought this might be metal or hardcore punk, but this is just great rock n' roll. Heavy Möther II are a Bloomington, Indiana based band that looks to have members (Eddie Flowers and Craig Bell) who have been playing music since the 1970s and have a LONG music history.

Heavy Möther II is the second incarnation of Heavy Mother. This album brings to mind rock in the vein of Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Endless Boogie and The Hard Quartet. But, look at the bands represented here: The Gizmos, Crawlspace, Rocket From the Tombs, The Retail Simps, and The Cowboys. "Omnivore" is the only song available, but I've listened to it a lot.

Previous Heavy Mother was released by Feel It Records. Heavy Möther II is being handled by Total Punk Records.

Endless Boogie is a studio album by American blues musician John Lee Hooker, released in 1971 through ABC Records. Produced by Bill Szymczyk and Ed Michel, the double album was recorded at Wally Heider Recording with session musicians such as Jesse Ed Davis, Carl Radle, Steve Miller, Gino Skaggs and Mark Naftalin.

American blues rock band Endless Boogie is named after the album.

Paul Major :: The Aquarium Drunkard Interview / Endless Boogie :: Vibe Killer

Over on Aquarium Drunkard, Jason dug in deep with private press pioneer Paul Major, who just published Feel The Music, a book that collects the collector’s famous write-ups of insanely obscure music, along with other ephemera. Paul has a healthy attitude: “It goes down this labyrinth of things that for me are a wrong turn and take away from enjoying things. The thing that really matters is what you’re listening to and how much you’re enjoying it. People always used to ask me, ‘What’s your favorite record?’ I’d  always say, ‘The one I’m listening to right now.’” 

Major also made a heady mix for AD’s Sirius radio show -- if you’ve got Sirius, dig it, there’s a ton of amazing stuff in there. If you seriously lack Sirius, there’s also a similar Mixcloud mix. 

And finally! Endless Boogie, the band Major’s fronted since the late 1990s, has a new record out on No Quarter, the mighty Vibe Killer. I love it. Even though the band primarily trades in one chord jams, this new one has a certain subtlety to it at times. Who says boogie can’t be subtle?! Not me. My business trip to NYC luckily coincided with Endless Boogie’s record/book release show at the Bowery Ballroom a few weeks ago. The band doesn’t play out all that often, but if you get the chance to see ‘em, by all means go go go.
