Kelly Cardoza's excellent "Best Punk on Bandcamp" has turned me onto a lot of great music. I'm glad that her definition casts a wide net. Case in point: Adelaide, Australia band Placement.
This recalls some of Kim Gordon's finest moments with Sonic Youth. Inevitably, this will draw comparisons to Dry Cleaning, but Kim Gordon perfected the deadpan vocal delivery decades earlier. I know I'm guilty of recency bias, but this also really does remind me of Versus.
This is being released on Endless Recordings (also based in Australia...we mentioned their excellent release Wedding Motel a couple of months ago).
