                “IS IT?”   A frown settled on Minerva’s lips as she looked at the girl,  her expression more curious than anything else.  It seemed like barely anything at all,  compared to what she had grown used to in the past few years.  It was telling,  she supposed,  of just how accustomed she had grown to the frequent violence committed against her.  It seemed like so little blood to her,  but to anyone else,  judging by this girl’s reaction,  it must be alarming. 

                “I’ve had worse,”  she added a moment later,  a small shrug accompanying her words.  She took a moment to glance about her,  her brow slowly beginning to furrow.  Nothing looked even the slightest bit familiar.  She had wandered a bit away from home,  more intent on getting a bit of time away from her husband than anything else - but this was most definitely nowhere she had been before.  She didn’t think she had wandered  that  far.  Then again,  the last hour or so was a bit of a blur.  Her recollection of it was foggy,  at best.  Perhaps it had been longer than that,  perhaps she had wandered farther than she thought.  Well,  at least for the time being,  it was certainly preferable to home.

                SLIGHTLY BUZZED,    she’s caught in a strange place between cheerful and irritated,  but she’s quick to try to shake off the latter upon hearing her friend’s question.  One brow arches upward,  a playful smile making its way across her lips.

                 “Which do you mean?”  Pippa questions,  though she’s fairly sure she knows exactly what Hecate had meant.  “The wine or the couch?  Because I’m happy to share both,  if you like,”  she adds,  flashing a bright grin at the other woman.

                SHE’S SKEPTICAL,    to say the least.  There had been a time she would have believed it,  not questioned that statement in the slightest --- but thirty years apart has changed that.  Pippa  hates   that she’s wondering whether or not she can take Hecate’s word,  but perhaps she’s better off playing it safe,  proceeding with caution in every step of rebuilding their friendship.

             “I find that difficult to believe.”  It sounds harsher than she had meant it to,  and she cringes slightly at her own words,  but falls into silence,  uncertain what else to say.

                HER HEAD IS SPINNING,    confusion overwhelming by this point.  Minerva all but ignores the question,  forcing herself to sit as she looks out the window,  brow furrowing.  What she sees,  it looks like the faded photographs she’s seen of the old world --- but how is that even possible?  She’s trying to remember how she got here,  but it’s all a blur.  

                Rather than answering the question as she looks to the woman,  Minerva responds with two of her own.  “Where am I?  And who are you?”

                SHE GLANCED AT THE GIRL,  offered a faint smile,  then just nodded slightly.  Yes,  it was quite a lot.  Moiraine couldn’t exactly deny that.  Still,  it certainly wasn’t the worst injury she had had recently.  Though it wasn’t ideal,  she had grown quite used to simply bandaging her injuries and moving on -- there wasn’t any other option she saw in the absence of another Aes Sedai to heal her.  

                “I’ll be alright,”  Moiraine tried to assure her,  offering up another faint smile as she finished wrapping her cut arm and secured the makeshift bandage as best she could.
