MRF Photoset By Lomi Mutuc
1) MRF Philippine Science High Schools MRF is located at the east side of the campus, behind the school cafeteria. It is managed by the school environmental committee together with the janitorial staff. 2) GROUNDS The PSHS MC MRF is approximately 50-70 sqm. 3) CARTONS This photo shows the big stalls, separated by barbed wires. These stalls houses the packed wastes in garbage bags. 4) COMPOST Microbes from the Biology Department are used for the compost mechanism in the biodegradable compost pits. 5) POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTALATE PET bottles were evident wastes in the campus. Kudos to Pisay MRF, these wastes are well segregated and recycled. 6) SEGRETATED (OR NOT) According to the management, defeated trash are collected every morning. PSHS MC MRF partners with a trusted junk shop for proper waste management. 7) CONCLUSION PSHS MRF lacks the implementation but the idea of a self-standing and working MRF is there. Unlike the UP Diliman MRF, it needs more organization and maintenance
