How to Choose a Power Tool, Series Two: Impact Driver 2

In the previous article, we briefly introduced some basic knowledge of impact driver. In this article, let’s talk about the precautions for use and maintenance skills. Only proper use can extend its service life.

 Precautions for use:

1. Before plugging in the power of the impact driver, make sure that the switch is in the off state. Pay attention to whether the power supply voltage is suitable for the machine. When you stop using the impact driver or cut off the power, you should immediately unplug the plug.

2. During use, do not set the torque adjustment too high, do not drop the impact driver.

3. When replacing the bit of an impact driver, be sure to turn off the power of the screwdriver and remove the power plug from the power socket.

4. When the torque of the impact driver is too small for use, it should be stopped immediately and replaced with a larger torque impact driver.

5. When the impact driver does not turn, the head is easy to fall off, the speed of the screwdriver is not smooth or the screwdriver will not stop automatically, it should be sent for repair in time to ensure that it can be used next time.

6. Screws of different specifications should correspond to impact drivers with different torque ranges.

 Maintenance skills:

1. It is strictly forbidden to hit the impact driver to avoid collision or falling, otherwise it will cause noise in the motor and shaking of the screwdriver.

2. When pulling out the connecting plug of the impact driver and the supporting controller, the base of the plug must be used as the force point. Do not pull the wire forcefully, which may damage the contact plug.

3. When using an impact driver, you must stop using it if it shakes too much, otherwise the impact driver is easily damaged.

4. When the impact driver is found to appear: the screwdriver does not rotate, the screwdriver speed is not smooth, the screwdriver head is easy to fall off or shake, the screwdriver does not stop automatically, etc., be sure to ask the maintenance personnel to repair it in time.

 Although the impact driver is relatively simple and easy to operate like an ordinary screwdriver, if the operation method is not correct, or the use skill is not in place, it will cause certain damage to the impact driver. If you encounter a problem that you cannot solve, you must seek professional help.

How to Plant Vegetables in Containers

Choosing the plants for your container garden is up to you; as a starting point, think about what you like to eat. Most vegetables have similar care needs (full sun and well-drained soil), but it's also good to double-check that their needs are similar, especially if you're planting multiple veggies in one container.

 You can start your vegetable container garden at the same time you would plant in the garden. Depending on what types of vegetables you want to grow, you can start seeds in your containers, grow transplants from seeds started indoors, or purchase transplants from a garden center.

 Test Garden Tip: Start container garden crops such as beans, corn, carrots, radishes, and spinach from seeds sown directly in the container.

Add Plants and Fertilize

Leave 3-4 inches of space in between each plant, and adjust according to the seed package directions. Because not all seeds will germinate, plant more than you need, then thin the excess later. Set transplants or starters at the same level they were growing in their pot (except for tomatoes, which you can pinch off their lower leaves and plant them deeper in the container). If you're planting transplants, gently loosen the root ball by tugging lightly at the roots before adding it to your container. Bury plastic tags to help with the identification of each plant.

 Sprinkle a balanced, organic fertilizer in the soil, either before or after planting. Don't over-fertilize; plants will grow too quickly so they'll be more likely to flop over, and the flavor won't be as rich. Starting about a month after planting, feed your vegetables about once a week with a water-soluble fertilizer, following the package directions. After planting, water gently but thoroughly to settle the seeds or transplants. Keep the potting soil from drying out as fast by mulching with straw, compost, leaf mold, or a similar material. Water every few days to keep your plants healthy.

Care Guide for Vegetables

Watering is the most important thing to watch for in your vegetable container garden. So inspect your vegetables regularly to make sure the potting mix hasn't dried out. Check by sticking your finger in the soil; if it's dry, it's time to water to prevent the plants from wilting.

 To keep your vegetable garden its most productive, keep an eye out for weeds and other pests. Harvest is the most satisfying step, and it doesn't take much to get it right. Pick your crops as soon as they reach a size where you will enjoy them. Most vegetables are more productive if you harvest early and often. Letting plants "go to seed" will often cause a drop in fruit set. And when harvesting anything except root crops, it's a good idea to use pruners, scissors, or a knife to remove what you need; if you try to pull off leaves or fruits, you risk damaging the plant and even uprooting it from the container.

Below are the basic instructions for growing a variety of vegetables in containers. Note that the suggested planting instructions are for optimal growth. You can often grow vegetables in small containers with acceptable results.

Cabbage: One transplant per 5-gallon container. Or with small varieties, one plant per gallon container.

Tomatoes: Transplant one plant per 5-gallon container.
