KAROLINA DEAN

The Idea A solar-powered light/photons/brightness powers playable Marvel Contest of Champions character, an alien of the Majesdanian race, in the Cosmic class. 

Synergy She does well with other Runaways members such as Nico Minoru and Gert & Old Lace, “Skrull-Majesdanian Alliance” with any Skrull, and other light-powers champs such as Dagger, any version of Dazzler, the twins Aurora and Northstar, Eclipse, Jubilee, Moonstone, Nova (Frankie Raye), Spectrum, Sun-Girl, the Uranian, and Xorn.

Karolina Dean in Other Games A relatively new, and thus obscure character, Karolina has showed up in a few games, including Marvel: Avengers Alliance and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. She was added to the current mobile game Marvel Puzzle Quest.

Karolina Dean and Summoners She has been mentioned only three times in the MCOC message boards, where Summoner titaniummorro suggested she could Power Gain when struck by Energy Damaging attacks. She was only recently added to the poll in late December 2019 so it will be difficult to predict her rank until some months have gone by.

KORVAC

The Idea A playable Marvel of Champions character in the Cosmic class with supreme energy conduit attributes.

Why Summoners Care Korvac’s story is directly tied to the origin of our own Contest and the fates of the various Elders who run it. Korvac, Carina’s boyfriend, killed the Collector, prompting the original Contest of Champions as a battle between the Grandmaster and Death.

Korvac was created when Badoon (alien) invaders fused Michael Korvac, a bad-attitude human traitor, with the machines he had been operating. Korvac became a computative defense calculator capable of stalemating even Doctor Strange, and a power absorber who stole the Power Cosmic from Galactus and wielded it to destructive effect.

He is a frequent time-traveler and enemy of the original Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers teams in the bronze and modern ages of comics. The Korvac saga has been a repeatedly rehashed Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover, likely inspiring at least one scene in the MCU. 

Synergy Time synergies could be shared with Doctor Strange, various Nathaniel Richards characters (Kang the Conqueror, Immortus, Iron Lad, Rama Tut, Kid Immortus, etc.) Loki, Nathan Summers’ selves, family, and supporting characters like (Cable, Stryfe, Nate Grey, Hope Summers, Garrison Kane, Trevor Fitzroy, etc.), as well as Quicksilver and Daimon Hellstrom. 

Power Cosmic pairings could include Hiro-Kala, Silver Surfer, and Galactus with any of his other heralds. 

Korvac could synergize as an enemy of any Avenger or Earth-691 Guardian. If Kabam ever introduces a playable Carina, she should also be a synergy, as would the Collector. 

He could also enjoy a “Badoon Tech” overlap with Geena Drake and anyone else wielding Badoon technology.

Korvac in Other Marvel Games Korvac has apparently only ever appeared in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. 

Korvac and Summoners He has been mentioned more than 40 times in the message boards. A more recent addition to the wishlist poll, as of mid-December 2019 he is rank 398 with a handful of votes.
