I’m Opening a Time Capsule!
When I was in London and Oxford last April, I bought a disposable camera to take pictures. I didn’t like digital cameras because I found the image quality too pristine. I didn’t like the idea of being able to meticulously set up the perfect shot of some landmark that I could just search for on the internet. I wanted to document my trip as it happened, as I saw it. So for two days I just walked around these two cities getting lost, taking a single picture every 20 minutes.
I lost the camera when I got home and I was really bummed out about it. It was like a little time capsule of pictures that I had taken but never seen. That was last summer.
But then I found it again! In a box of old stuff in my closet. I got them developed and just looked at them for the first time today.
Because the film is so old, the pictures look old too, but there’s a sort of nostalgia to it I really like. Also my finger is in most of the shots so I have to crop a lot of them. :( But ultimately I love how they came out!
For the next few days I’m just going to be posting my photos to this blog. I’ll tag them as #england2014 if you want to blacklist them. That’s all :)
