English pointers! (via itunesu)
Feng Shui (& Coconuts) It is strange that I talk about coconuts as much as I do, but that's just how my husky shell rolls... I've been avoiding finishing my homework so I decided to rearrange my furniture instead. It's good for clearing the mind and the cobwebs and the dense accumulation of dog hair. I found enough to make a dog sweater, plus booties and a bonnet. I also found the above coconut, which had rolled beneath my dresser. I don't normally keep produce in my room, but this was a coconut that my English Pointer found one day while on a swim. She had lost her ball to the sea (must've been punctured) and I didn't have a spare. Rather than give up and go home, we both started looking around the beach, hoping for a stray tennis ball or maybe even a good throwing stick. I spotted the coconut and thought, "Nah, she won't be able to carry it in her mouth." She spotted it, too, gave me a look like, "Yeah, this'll do", snatched it up and dropped it at my feet. Like any well-trained dog companion, I chucked it into the ocean. And thus ensued one of our more memorable games of fetch. She carried the coconut back to the car and brought it home. When she hasn't forgotten it in some corner, she brings it to me as a greeting at the door. Who says the pineapple is the universal symbol of hospitality?
