Danny let out a shaky breath and checked the scrap of paper in her hand for the up-teenth time, making sure she had the right address. She hadn’t spoken to any of the people she once called friends since then either. Well, except for one. Though she wasn’t sure if could truly call Carmilla a friend. Danny closed her eyes and gently knocked on the door. Her muscles started to shake, she instantly regretted this. Ready to run, the opening of the door stopped her. She forced a faint smile. 

“Hey there, Fangface.”

Bunny rolled their eyes as they listened to Carmilla's drawls but the grin on their face shows that they were fighting the urge to laugh. "Messy and grumpy." They chuckle as they continue munching on their carrot. It wasn't their fault that they had put on some really bopping music and couldn't help but sway and nod their head to the beat. "You're lucky it's just the table that you're slopping all over and not me." They drawl back but then switches on their innocent, cutesy smile. "Can I have a sip though?"

@enigmaticxcarm CAUSE WE NEED HAPPY THINGS

Just like every morning, Bunny was awake and bustling through the house, keeping themself busy while Carmilla was still sleeping away in bed. They didn’t mind, but it always got old how they would always have to teleport out of her tight grasp every single morning. Plus, it quickly got boring having the whole house to themself. Since the holiday season was near, Bunny wanted to get into the holiday spirit and grabbed all the Christmas decorations they can find around the rather minimalist house. Knowing that it would be more fun decorating and doing fun holiday activities with Carmilla, they grabbed all the Christmas lights and went into the bedroom. They swiped their camera on the way there and once they’re at the foot of the bed where the sleeping vampire lay, they scattered all the tangled lights onto her sleeping form, all over the body, head, and face and giggled at the sight of the badass vampire adorned in fairy lights. Of course this was a photo-worthy moment.

What had incited Danny to even say those words, she wasn’t sure. She had been sitting on the couch, Carmilla in the armchair next to her. She had looked up from her own book to watch the other vampire as she read. She wasn’t exactly sure how long they had been together - if that’s what someone wanted to call it, they never really bothered to put a name to it. As Danny took her in, she couldn’t help but smile and the words slipped out. But they were true. Ever since Danny had moved in with the other vampire, she really did begin to feel more alive - which considering that both of them were technically dead - Danny knew that this was the closest she was going to feel to that. 

She allowed Carmilla to take her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Truth be told, she never would have expected those words to cross her lips either, but then again, things change. This was definitely a wanted welcomed change. Danny’s smile grew hearing her words. If she still had a working heart, it would feel like it would be glowing. A soft chuckle passed her lips. 

“Too bad we don’t have to take on the whole world anymore.”
