IT'S A YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY THING, I'M NOT SURE IF YOU SHOULD? Because it does shine in some areas but it falls for the same horror tropes in other areas SO
evil dead spoilers (and Jennifer's Body spoilers) under the cut
EVIL DEAD, NOT SURE IF YOU SHOULD--because like, I really love Mia and I really love the sibling narrative in the film and there were lots of things about that movie I did love a lot, especially with the ending.
BUT it's HORRIBLY GORY, like, it really tries to go for really gruesome things to unsettle you so a lot of the gore is just unnecessary and kinda gross. There's also some grossness with how the women are killed vs. how the men are killed (women die more brutally than the dudes die, basically, and THE BLACK GIRL DIES FIRST! /o\ It's so sad how I was not surprised by that), trigger warnings for rape and sexual assault (one instance of rape, one instance of sexual assault that was really uncomfortable) and the movie does spend the majority of the time with David's arc before we switch over to Mia's arc, primarily because she's possessed. That is a valid compliant, I just hate how it's used to dismiss Mia and her narrative entirely, and dismiss her worth as a character? Just because she spend a lot of the film possessed, doesn't mean she's an unimportant character, and she should be shamed for getting possessed--generally, in the Evil Dead series, if you're possessed, your'e a goner, you're doomed; in the original, when the lead dude's sister gets possessed, she pretty much dies horribly for his angst and here she gets to live and fight as soon as she's able and walk away).
Like I'm not sure I'd call it a feminist marvel, but Mia is pretty important to me tbh.
so, your mileage may vary, it's up to you and your own limits in horror?
JENNIFER'S BODY I LOVED A LOT, idk it's one of the few horror films where men are treated as canon fodder and die for the ladies' pain and Jennifer/Needy is my tragic otp so like YES WATCH IT.

3. Eponine/Montparnasse - sob I ship it so much and hardly anyone writes it I love it so much though my kiiiiiiiiiiids.
after these three I honestly don't know, I just flail a lot about a bunch of different ships idek
4. Marius/Courf/Cosette - I WAS GOING TO PUT MARIUS/COURF BUT I REALLY LOVE MARIUS/COURF/COSETTE A LOT :333
5. jehan/courf/combeferre - this is my cheating way to say I ship all permutations of these and I can't pick so I ship smush them together in a threesome and now they make me really happy I don't even know.

1. Scott/Stiles/Allison/Lydia (Teen Wolf) - MY NEW FAVORITE THING, TBH.
2. Erica/Boyd/Isaac (Teen Wolf) - I'm forever mourning this tiny pack of bb lonely kid werewolves
3. Sarah & Felix (orphan black) - FOUND FAMILY FEELINGS OUT THE WAZOO FOR THEM. Found family feelings with Sarah picking the family that raised her and picked her (Felix & Ms. S), over her biological family Helena (as much as I cry over my Sarah/Helena ship all the time).
4. Harry & Ron & Hermione forever and ever amen.
5. SOKKA AND KATARA AND TOPH AND ZUKO AND AANG (A:tla) - THESE KIDS!!!! /o\ Actual the best, tbh, I have a lot of emotions.
6. BATFAMILY (DCU) - because the greatest joke about the Batman movie is that they try to make him all BROODY LONER GUY but he's SURROUNDED by people in the comics and it's just gr8.
3. How we sometimes end up staying up until six in the morning chatting about fanfic AUs and characters and ships
4. How in general, I can tell you anything about anything. And how you let me rant about stupid shit a lot of the time.
5. HOW YOU SHARE MY DEEP ABIDING LOVE FOR PULPY FICTION AND HORROR AND VAMPIRES AND U GET ME
6. How we both love a lot of the same things, but we also have some distinct preferences and dislikes that we don’t share which is gr8 because then we’re more like interlocking parts than the same person and imma stop now I sound ridic
1. Scream, because it was formative and I love genre savvy horror and this was probably the first one I saw.
2. Ginger Snaps - LADY WEREWOLVES + CODEPENDENT SIBLINGS + FUCKED UP SLOW BURN TRANSFORMATION = A+, ALL THE SEQUELS ARE GOOD TOO
3. Trick R Treat - I love this forever for playing with the conventions and folklore of halloween as a thing, it’s everything I waaant.
4. Jennifer’s Body - FOREVER MOVIE. I don’t care what people say, I love it.
5. Interview with the Vampire - I do not even really consider this a horror film? But like. It’s one of those movies I keep rewatching over and over, so it deserves a mention yeah.
6. Thirst - I question this being on this list because it’s so NEW but I just watched it and it’s not really scary but it’s definitely HORRIFYING and I unexpectedly fell in love and it was almost everything I ever wanted in a vampire movie.
