The last few months were a bit too busy for her liking. As much as she was ecstatic about debuting and her company had a fantastic marketing scheme they managed to pull off, Heejin always felt guilty for always being excused from school for weeks only to come back for a few and be excused out again. As an idol, though her parents were opposed she had promised them to at least finish her studies but that wasn’t going quite as planned right now. 

Today was one of her ‘free weeks’ before she would travel to some place else again.  also known as a period where she’g go around asking her classmates for notes--just in case her teacher’s wasn’t enough. Bashfully, she tapped the shoulder of the student closest to her. “Somi-ssi, I don’t know if I’m asking too much but . . . can I please copy your history notes? I’m a bit worried I’m missing something . . .”

“It’s too cold for you to come out here without a jacket on.”

But fancy running into you here, Somi. ❞ He slips through the doors and into the building, shielding himself from the nippy winds outside. Of course he had run into IOI quite a few times at award shows over the past few weeks, so she was no stranger to him.

Startled by her senior, Somi bowed as if it was a reflex. Being IOI’s center was heavy responsibility, almost having to be the definition of perfection, mistakes were out of the question. It would be a shame if her senior noticed her small mistake back at stage.”I’m fine, sunbae-nim!” she anxiously said. “I think it was just the stage. But I do hope you enjoyed our performance, sunbae-nim! Are you up next?”

She smiled at the younger - it was always sweet to see the rookies, reminding Taeyeon so much of how much had changed in the past ten years. Music, style and even the industry could change with leaps and bounds, but the one thing that was always so steadfast was the excitement and joy in those rookies eyes. “I did, I did,” Taeyeon responded, wrapping an arm around the younger girl’s shoulders, “I keep hearing your songs everywhere I go. I’m glad that you girls are doing well.” Hearing her question, Taeyeon shook her head, “We’re closer to the end of the show. I’m just lingering around to watch everyone.”
