faintly scalding

Life had always been silent, just as he had been since his existence became a woven tragedy, and yet it seemed as though today was screaming; everything had been lit in a metaphorical light, one akin to a flame that refused to die.
Perhaps it was simply anxiety weighing upon his shoulders, as it did on occasion, when times became too calm, as well as when times became too stress-filled, but something pressed upon him that there was an error in place, a glitch in the matrix, as his friends had joked when he brought it up shortly after their first class.
Whatever the foreign feeling was, the teen was determined to leave it behind him and enjoy the day as it had been from the moment he awoke: beautiful and void of mocking glances and teasing jokes about his condition. It had been one of the nicer days since he had moved school.
Rather, it had been. As he moved to leave his ended class, that wave of something truly unsettling washed over him, threatening to drown him beneath it’s weight, and he nearly choked as he turned to face the source of his constant anxiety throughout the overly calm day.
With a set jaw and a glare in his uncovered cobalt orb, twin hands rose and began moving rapidly with one another, his mind having not caught up to warn him that the one he was signing frantically toward may be like the others, and not be able to understand him.
“Have you been following me? Are you the reason I have been so unsettled the entire day? I feel as though with every corner I turn, you are there, on my bloody heels! I have taken two semesters of this class, and not once have I noticed you; explain why you are so intent on driving me insane, this instant!”
He always had been one to over-exaggerate and over-analyze.
