You started with a smile and that's the way I loved you.
"My name's Charlie,"
"Hey, I'm Birdie."
That's how it started, our friendship, you were kinder than anyone I have ever met, and I quickly fell in love with you.
"I'll protect you from everything." Charlie whispered as he placed his hand on the side of her face.
Then something changed within you. I don't what it was, but it was something and it scared me, you grew darker and darker, and I was losing the Charlie I once knew.
"I'm sorry, but I'm broken." He whispered in the darkness.
"It's okay, we're all broken." Birdie whispered back, kissing his cheek, and grabbing his hand.
Everything about you changed, I remember one night your eyes changed colors and a loud screech echoed throughout the room as you charged after that poor innocence girl. The scream that echo from her cut through the thinness of the night and rang through my ears. You killed her and I witnessed the whole thing, you weren't the Charlie I used to know. The look on your face once you were done and noticed that I was there was pure shock and I knew that I couldn't run from you then. I knew I had to stay and give you want you needed.
"Birdie, what did I just do, I killed her." Charlie told her softly looking up at her.
"Shh, come on." She whispered as she walked over to him and grabbed his hand and dragged him back to his house and wiped his face a like a child.
It wasn't long till you turned on me, and started feeding from me. At first I was scared and you were so angry with yourself but as time passed you kept on, and I got use to the pain and you got use to using me. You tried every morning to erase my memories of what happened the night before, but I caught on soon, and just let you do all over again. I love you Charlie, and that's why I give you what you need.
"Little Bird I am so sorry, I never meant to hurt you."
"Charlie is okay, it doesn't hurt anymore."
