his gaze slides past william and fixes on the bed behind him, down to the hard patch of floor at its side, and back to him again. brows quirk, and his blink is slow and disbelieving.

alright, so the bed isn't massive, but it's also the most comfortable thing in this entire apartment. he supposes he could be selfless and take the floor himself, but, well. it's not a trait he ascribes to for a reason.

'the drink is on the house, don't worry about it,' he promised while leaning against the counter. it was the end of the summer, not rare for the club it be a little more empty than it was during the colder months. if people had a choice, they'd spend their nights outdoors while the heat of the summer was still offering its company.

eden wiped a stray droplet of blood from her lower lip. how convenient it was to be friends with a little nurse who could not bear the idea of eden ever going hungry; these blood pouches pilfered from the hospital's blood bank were a blessing. she'd stuck a straw in the one she'd been nursing, drinking from it as though it was nothing but a juice box.

"i'm... sorry? i think?" eden tilted her head. kai did not look overly bothered, or upset, or mad, but who knew what was going on in that handsome head of theirs. eden, for one, certainly had no clue whatsoever.

like a deer caught in the headlights, woong turned to blink at gyeongjae. "uh, well... " why was it so important, indeed? gyeongjae did not want any help with the spirits inhabiting his home. in fact, he seemed rather content letting them be, which woong could certainly appreciate. he, too, felt terrible for disturbing ghosts as often as he did. some of them had already made peace with their existence and were of very little danger to anyone.

but the ones who didn't? woong couldn't in good conscience let them roam and potentially cause any harm.

"some of them are... well on their way of becoming malignant," he explained. "they might not hurt you, but it's still a risk to let them exist like this. they need to, uh... you know." woong gestured awkwardly. most spirits he encountered were not too difficult to guide into the afterlife, but this house? chock-full of energies, it was going to be quite the task.

a task woong wasn't so sure he was cut out for.
