Heyo :) Re: astigmatism and light mode - it is a thing! There is an effect called 'halation' that is common in astigmatic folks, where white text on a black background is fuzzy / doubled. It looks to me like the letters have a ghost of themselves just behind / above them, and makes it much harder to read text clearly. Gets worse the more tired your eyes are.

One of your earlier asks got me thinking about how strange the developement from scorpling to scorpion must be in terms of how the environment works. E.g. for the tiny ones, water is like thick molasses to us, gripping and easily deadly; then at some point they get large enough that the surface tension isn't a problem at all. The world must change so much for creatures straddling that size threshold!

It really must! Since I was a wee lad I’ve always wanted to be very tiny for a day to see what it’s like. Probably best I can’t, because I’d likely be eaten. Tiny humans are probably very delicious.

i mean... i’m sure i’ve told you before, but your writing is almost 100% responsible for me getting into yogs. i was vaguely watching it bc friends had bullied me into it, but tbh i’d had no intention of getting into the fandom until i devoured your voltz series (and watched the episode) between like. bedtime and 4am one weekend curled up in my bed in the dark. and then started writing all sorts of nonsense as a result, and the rest is history B)

All my gulf fritillary butterflies emerged the other day.

And I was like! Oh fortuitous day! How delightful that I get to witness this bold step into their next phase of their life! This is such a cool moment and surely bodes well for whatever ventures I've got going on.

Why would any sign that big ever signal anything good? You dont need a message if life's about to get easy. Hammer it on your heart that if you get a big weird sign, it is a warning.

I needed to remember how much work it takes to emerge, to build yourself new, and how vulnerable having to sit out in the open with your new flashy wings actually is.
