Entropy Centre Curiosities

Just got done playing this game again, just for shits and grins, and a couple things I'm curious about.

After waking up and finding the PEA, aka Astra, there's a room with various items, one being an eaten apple that you can reverse time on which makes it whole again. So does that mean, using the PEA, as long as there's some left, you can have infinite food?

Also, I know the game is based on / inspired by Portal, and came across this towards the end:

Is that a reference to the Portal 2 line "You have been in suspension for 9...9...9...9...9...9..."?
