WHAT IS YOUR TOTAL WORD COUNT ON AO3?

...301,472??? What. When did that happen?? I still haven’t added the latest three prompt aus. Or some of my Hank and Connor ficlets, which I think I’ll start compiling on AO3 after my exam. xD;;

HOW OFTEN DO YOU WRITE?

Barring Life Things, I’d write at least 500 words every day before bed. I try to write when I’m free because it’s actually a form of cathartic release for me, so... not being able to write as much as I'd like at the moment is messing up my coping mechanisms, big time lol. 

DO YOU HAVE A ROUTINE FOR WRITING?

I like to immerse myself in whatever I’m writing. Say, for Zanka, I’d have traditional Japanese instruments playing in the background. For Entwining Fates, I had the Harry Potter movie soundtracks playing, or even the movies themselves for a better grasp of British English colloquism and the Hogwarts vibe. For my 1920s prohibition era fic, I had Boardwalk Empire on, for a feel of the atmosphere and mannerisms and style of speech. It’s to the point that my husband can figure out what I’m writing just based on what I’m watching/listening to. xD I don’t do that so much for ficlets, since I generally write those up while charged with a short burst of inspiration! Even then I may be listening to some sort of music that sets the mood of the piece. 

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE KINKS/TROPES/PAIRING?

Kinks: Spooning, teasing, dirty/pillow talk, topping from bottom, sex on/against furniture/wall, domestic things, historical/period settings (especially feudal Japan). ...this is pretty much tantamount to self-disclosure.....? xD;;

Tropes: Love at first sight, slow burn, forbidden love, star-crossed lovers, will they or won’t they?, mutual pining, unresolved sexual tension, fluff, angst with a happy ending

Pairings: For most recent, Victuuri and Sheith. Also partial to Otayuri, which I don't write enough of. :< I've written a bit of Akira (Protag)/Yusuke from Persona 5. With the Natsume Yuujincho movie coming out, I’m slowly getting back into my love for Natori/Natsume.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FIC OF YOURS?

Zanka, a Victuuri Edo courtesan au. I love old Japan in general and the entire  culture of Yoshiwara absolutely fascinates me, so this has been a real joy to work on. It’s also a combination of some of my favorite kinks and tropes, and I think it features some of my best writing, too.

Entwining Fates, a Victuuri Hogwarts/Harry Potter au. Probably because I wrote and shared it while the show was still on air. :D;

ANYTHING YOU DON’T LIKE ABOUT YOUR WRITING?

Where do I start lol. I’m definitely guilty of run-on sentences! I want to work on my metaphors/phrasing/word choices to paint more evocative images in a manner that isn’t too verbose - something that’s forever a wip for me. I also think I could improve on pacing out romantic relationships in my works; I get way too impatient and just want the two to be together already lol.

NOW SOMETHING YOU DO LIKE (ABOUT YOUR WRITING)?

Umm. I’ve rarely had difficulty with dialogue! I do like how I write action scenes too, though I haven’t been writing much of that lately. ^^;;

YOI: Entwining Fates Prompt H/C

PROMPT: Also, can I request something that has the canon pets in it? It’s interesting that Vicchan is an owl (is Makkachin one as well?) in this verse so I would like to see other characters with their pets as well. Thank you! ❤

Yuuri: Not an owl haha but a white raven called Vicchan, named after Viktor Nikiforov as in canon. The sun goddess Amaterasu is said to sometimes take the form of a raven called Yatagarasu. (Despite Yuuri telling her to stop, Yuuko still gives the bird a full 180-degree bow for that reason. Takeshi also bows because he loves his kooky wife very much.) Just like owls, Vicchan delivers Yuuri’s post.  Viktor: Later adopts a black raven he calls Makka, mostly so Vicchan can have a partner. (Everyone deserves to be as happy as he is!)  Yurio: A black cat he named Puma Tiger Scorpion (Potya), as in canon. Potya listens to only Yurio and Beka. Viktor and Yuuri always keep Makka and Vicchan by their side when Yurio visits with his cat; they really don’t like the way Potya stares at their birds with his unnerving, glowing eyes.  Beka: Given that he cares for Potya when Yurio is at Quidditch practice, he is just as much Potya’s master as Yurio is.  Phichit: Owns a male brown-furred ferret called Bandit. Phichit is quite aware of Bandit’s thieving ways but has made no move to stop his pet, and in fact, may or may not be encouraging him. Bandit is best friends with magpie Mi-sun. The duo have stolen enough trinkets, charmed objects, and even Galleon coins for Phichit to open a store. Seung-gil: Has a female magpie he named Mi-sun (written in hanja, 美善, for beauty and benevolence). Thinks Bandit is a Bloody Bad Influence on his sweet pet and blames Phichit. Vicchan and Makka almost always look disapproving when they’re with Mi-sun. Guang Hong: No pets; his parents thought he ought to focus on his studies and career, and he listens like the filial son he is. (He desperately wants one, though......) Leo: No pets, but he does have quite a few (magical) plants, including a bonsai tree that Yuuri gave him on his 18th birthday. (He frequents pet stores with Guang Hong in Diagon Alley just so his best friend can coo and cuddle with assorted fuzzies in the store.) JJ: Adopted a tiny marmoset monkey called Junior. They wear matching JJ-STYLE jumpers and flash the same JJ-style sign with frighteningly precise synchronicity. Potya, like his owner, hated Junior on first sight, and will take any chance to claw Junior’s eyes out.  Christophe: A Ragdoll cat called Sabine with gorgeous blue eyes that rival Christophe’s mesmerizing green. Unlike Potya, Sabine gets along famously with everyone and their pets. (Even Potya seems very taken with her, much to Yurio’s chagrin.) I hope I haven’t missed anyone!

I AM SO SORRY, FOLKS. T^T

I have, unfortunately, not had time to do any writing this entire week sob. Mostly because I’ve crammed two week’s worth of school assignments into one week, in preparation for entertaining friends who will be visiting all of this coming week, right till next Sunday. 

I do want to write something for Halloween, though, like maybe little Halloween-related ficlets for each of my AUs (i.e., Entwining Fates, YOLO, even Zanka lol), but idk. W-We shall see.

I hope to have a more fruitful update for y’all next time. m(_ _)m

YOI: Entwining Fates bit

Viktor sat behind the wheel, foot working diligently at the pedal, hands sliding up and down the spinning mound of clay. He was focused, so focused, as though he were slicing through the air, his gaze set only on the tiny golden ball that danced mere inches beyond his reach. And Yuuri could only watch his lover work, heart swelling with adoration for the man who insisted on attempting pottery because “I want to learn more about your quaint muggle activities!", who spent hours memorizing Japanese characters so he could learn to write 'Yuuri ga daisuki' in childish, squiggly lines. "Yuuri, look, I made a bowl!" Viktor gestured wet hands at the odd-shaped container, its edges wavy and asymmetrical and drooping on one side. "Beautiful," said Yuuri, just as Viktor's blue eyes curved, crinkled, and brightened - sun-soaked clouds drifting in the sky. Absolutely beautiful. [inspired by a comment on an Entwining Fates drabble; slightly edited from the original]

Have small pieces I wrote at some point that no longer fit anywhere. Or maybe something will come out of these, who knows lol. 

GOLDEN TRIO

Yuuri made a beeline for the couch, where he promptly collapsed, a mess of mud-covered robes and limbs. This was why he didn’t want grey leather for the couch despite Viktor’s puppy eyes and trembling lips; the stains would have been a horror to clean.

“Yuu~~ri~~! Welcome home, zvezdochka~” 

Yuuri let a giggle slip past his lips when he felt a familiar weight crush him further into the couch, strong arms wrapping round his waist and enveloping him in the warm scents of shampoo and fresh grass after a rainy day. It was bordering ridiculous how easily his husband could lift his spirits. “Silly, I’m so dirty right now…” 

“Mm, yes you are,” Viktor hummed close to his ear, before sharp teeth nipped playfully at his earlobe. 

“I’m still here, assholes,” Yurio shrieked somewhere in the vicinity. 

Viktor exhaled a laugh, three puffs of breath against Yuuri’s neck. “By the way, I’ve invited Yura over for dinner.” 

“I noticed,” Yuuri chuckled.

SMOL YUURI

“Yuuri-chan! Here alone?” 

 Yuuri stretched on his tiptoes to peek over the counter, the corners of his eyes crinkling in a shy smile. “Uh huh.” Reaching into his little satchel, he tugged out the dull-colored notes his mother gave him. “My mom said she needs, um…” His nose wrinkled as he struggled to recall the word his mother repeated to him before he left the inn. “Sa – saba?” 

“Of course, dear,” the old fish vendor said kindly. “How many do you need?” 

“Four, please.” 

Looking pleased, Yuuri yanked his satchel wide open for the vendor to stow the fresh bodies of fish inside, wrapped in newspaper. 

“You’re a little man now, aren’t you?” the vendor chuckled, as Yuuri pulled over the flap and buttoned it down with the utmost care. 

He smiled again, wider this time, lips pulling back to reveal a gap in his front teeth. “I’m four now,” he said, clasping his hands together in a polite gesture; his mother always taught him to be courteous to elders. 

“Well, young man, tell your mother I said hello.” 

“Yes, ma’am,” said Yuuri, bowing once, deeply, before turning to amble away, hugging the satchel to his chest. 

He took his time on the way home, careful to stay on the insides of the sidewalk, skipping cracks as he walked. His mother had tasked him with an important errand; he couldn’t afford to jostle the precious cargo. He wasn’t sure if fish could get damaged, but he heard his mother talking about throwing out bruised apples the other day, and he wouldn’t want his mission to end in such sad failure. (Mari would never let him forget it.) 

As he hopped over another crack, something rustled in the trees. 

Curious, he turned his gaze upwards. 

There was a crow on a branch. Watching him, still and silent.

Update on YOI writings

Grad school has started for me, along with practicum training at a hospital, so my schedule is pretty much, well. Something I’d rather not think about, because I’d curl into a ball and rock in the corner for a good few minutes. 

MORE IMPORTANTLY: writing is going to be slow from here on and there might be long intervals between updates. My current status:

Entwining Fates Drabble Collection - I’m probably going to combine a couple of prompts into one post. Currently, I’ve got a short Otayuri piece (with a brief Victuuri cameo) written up. Zanka, Ch 5 - Now crawling at 1k words. I’m also doing more research for a particular scene I’ve envisioned l-lol. Learning never ends! Let me know if this is helpful to know or if you’re just content to wait till something’s posted? If it is helpful, I’ll post a status update now and then. 

ALSO. If any of you lovely AO3 commenters are watching my Tumblr at all, I apologize for the delay in responding to your wonderful feedback! T^T I’ve been reading them (and fueling my days with your words), but I haven’t found the energy to properly respond. Part of that is because so many of you have written such detailed, well thought out comments that I don’t want to just be like, “Thank you!!!” and leave it at that. I will be getting to them slowly and eventually! <3
