When Leila found out about their marriage, she was supposed to be so happy with me that she wouldn’t care!

I kept my head buried in my hands crying. I was crying for my baby cousin because out of all of this, we were all excited to welcome her.

“Where’s my baby! I want to see my fucking baby! Don’t tell me to calm down!!” Oh lord, they called my Aunt
I looked up and started sweating like crazy. My aunt was nothing to play with, especially when it came to Aja. Aja was the baby and spoiled from not just my aunt but my uncle in law. He made sure Aja didn’t want for anything when he passed over his estate in his will.
His life choices is why Aja didn’t want to deal with Envy but we all knew they would end up together at some point. Envy never really gave up
I got up to hug my aunt and she broke down... I looked over at Lei and knew the questions were coming.
“Anissa, what happened? Is the baby okay?” My aunt asked sternly
I looked over at Leila who still had this blank look on her face. No expression, nothing. Just blank.
“Uhh her and Leila got into an argument and then she screamed out in pain. Envy rushed her to the hospital and we’ve been waiting to hear back from the doctors” I replied quickly. Hoping she didn’t think too much into the argument part.
“Where Envy?” My aunt asked after looking around
“They allowed him back there when he said that he was her husband” I spoke lowly and kept my head down.
My aunt looked over at Leila and then at me before whispering “is that why Lei is spaced out? Is that why they were arguing? Did they get physical” she threw out question after question.
I looked over at Lei again before I looked back at my aunt “They umm... Aja came home-“
“Yo you and you, get the fuck out and leave before I forgot where I’m at!” Envy came out yelling, pointing at Leila and I.
She finally came out of her trance and squinted her eyes at him?
“Excuse me? You have some explaining to do and I’d like to know the status of my ex best friends wellbeing. Thank you” she replied smartly.
“Bitch if you don’t-“ Envy lunged at her
“Envy hun, calm down. How’s Aja?” My aunt grabbed him, pulling him towards her.
“Mann.... they had to do an emergency C-section, my baby is in the ICU... Aja is getting stitched up from surgery.. ma I can’t lose them... I just got her...” he broke down and my aunt just hugged him whispering “I know, hunny I know”.
It’s as if everyone forgot that he was engaged to Leila who was not only Aja’s bestfriend but who was also sitting right there. 🤦🏾♀️
“So was I just a big fucking joke to everyone?” Leila yelled causing us all to snap our head at her.
I was mouthing “not now” to her but that went ignored
“Mrs. Smith I looked at you as a mother! You could’ve told me! Hell! If Aja didn’t wanna tell me, you could’ve! Why would you allow me to play get played and humiliated like this? Aja was my best fucking friend” She was crying hard. Like that ugly cry when you get whipped butt ass naked.
My aunt went to go hug her and Lei snatched away from her. “Don’t touch me! I just want to know why?” She yelled
“That’s my daughter Leila... and believe it or not, I found out after she became pregnant” my aunt clarified.
Leila nodded her head slowly... “Let me know if the baby makes it and if Aja is okay. But I can’t stand here any longer” she said lowly and began grabbing her bag and keys to walk out
“You live to see the end of this week and that’s how you’ll know if my baby made it” Envy said in a cold tone.
Nigga looking like a pit bull off its leash and shit with my aunt holding him back
Leila looked at him and shook her head before walking out.
“The family of Aja King?” The same female doctor from early came out and looked around.
“Yes, I’m her mother” my aunt said damn near knocking the poor doctor over
“Aja is stable and in recovery right now. We have put her on opioids to help relieve the pain when she awakes. Two people at a time can go back and see her. Visitations are over at 9PM” She informed us.
“What about my baby?” Envy asked. He almost sounded scared to ask.
The doctor cleared her throat and looked at us somberly before saying “She’s in the intensive care unit right now.. she’s a fighter but due to her early birth at only 30 weeks, we are concerned about the development of her lungs”
Envy jaw twitched and he asked if he could stay overnight with Aja. When the doctor said yes, he seemed a bit relieved.
“Ma you go ahead, ima come back there in a sec” he turned to my aunt saying. She nodded her head and followed the doctors.
“You can get the fuck out too” Envy said once my aunt went to the back.
“Envy, I get that you’re pissed but that’s still my cousin so Ima need you to chill” I replied. I was not about to argue with him right now.
He scratched his jar before saying “Cool, so when your aunt come out. I’ll let her know why Leila fought Aja and caused my fucking baby to be born 10 weeks early”
I looked up at him and bit my bottom lip. He knew what the fuck he was doing.
“Tell my aunt and uncle I had to go into work on short notice” I said as I grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder.
“Nah, you figure out what to tell them. You good at lying anyways” he responded coldly before walking away.
I rolled my eyes but kept quiet.
Ordering an Uber, I walked outside to wait. Walking through the parking lot, I could see Leila was still in her car, but she had her head down like she was still crying. I couldn’t really see much cause of her tints.
Canceling my Uber, I walked over and knocked on her window. She popped the locks and I slid in.... looking over, I regreted it instantly.
She had her pink .38 in her left hand and her engagement pictures in her right.
“Lei... wha... what are you doing?” I asked.
“I’ve been getting played this whole fucking time. I will be the last one fucking laughing, I don’t know what the fuck he thought!” she yelled at the picture as the tears continued to fall.
“Lei, Envy and Aja really have always had some weird attraction but Aja never acted on it and you know why” I tried reasoning with her “shooting envy won’t do anything besides hurt both you and Aja at the end”
“You knew about them? Didn’t you?” She looked up and asked.
