headcanons:
Nyx ( Staten Island born and raised ) always had an estranged relationship with her parents, being the middle child she sort of got forgot about. She moved out of her family home when she was just 17, she had been taking care of herself for a year anyway. She never went to college, opted for the workforce instead. She has always been a go-getter, and even if she was making 7.50 an hour, she always had the latest in fashion, and a big bag in her purse.
When Nyx turned 20 she discovered seeking arrangements and the life of a sugar baby(SB/SD), she instantly fell in love with it. Get whatever she wanted for minimal work? Because she’s hot? It was her dream come true. That was until she was 23, and she fell in love with one of her SD’s, she moved in with him, stopped seeing everyone else, thought she was in love and found the one she was going to be with forever. That was until she got pregnant, he accused her of cheating and still doing her SB work, and got physical with her. She apologized for upsetting him, and waited until he went to bed to look through his phone; only to find out that he had been seeing other women the entire time they were together and isolating her away from the few people she did have by lying about them and she believed him. She now has to live with herself knowing that she could have a four year old child out there but she chose to stay with a man who left her three weeks later for someone younger and dumber.
She does credit card scams on the side as a way to support her lavish lifestyle she has came to love in the last decade. Coming up on the poor side of Staten Island didnt matter, she always surrounded herself with the snooty kids who wouldn’t notice if they were missing a few hundred bucks or a plastic card when they have twenty of mommy and daddys. As she got older, her hustle got more advanced, she only stays at a call center long enough to bleed a few people dry before moving on.
She still does SB work, she’s trying to branch into life insurance work and maybe property management or cooking professionally. She’s honestly just trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and feels like she needs to surround herself with new people away from California and go back to her routes.
Not everyone can say they’ve been to the Big Apple, but [ OLIVIA JONES ], a [ 33 ] year-old [ FEMALE ] has lived in [ CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN ] for [ ALL HER LIFE ]. This is the city of dreams and [ SHE/HER ] knows it, because they came to NYC to be a [ BURLESQUE DANCER ]. Living in the city means they meet all kinds of people, but everyone always seems to think they look like [ EMMA STONE ]. They even got away with free cab fare once because of it!
1). Olivia is a burlesque dancer. She really truly loves it, which is not to say she doesn’t get nervous or sometimes wonder how she works there. Her co-workers are considered almost family to her. There are still a few who see her as competition and distrust her, but she would do anything she could to help if they needed it.
2). Olivia is based in crappy studio apartment. There’s a teeny doored bathroom, and the main space has only fixtures, furnishings for the kitchen part, but outside that there’s nothing of note. No couch, no bed, nothing. She chose it because it was readily available, basically, and she needed to have somewhere to go where she wouldn’t burden other people nor occupy. She pays rent weekly, with no contract. If anyone broke in, she’d probably not handle it well, whether she was there at the time or came back to find it had transpired (though she might not be able to tell there had been an intruder if she wasn’t present). There would probably be running involved.
3). Olivia believes her biological parents dumped her into the foster system because, at the age of six, she was a nuisance. So she doesn’t blame them, or hold them responsible. She learned early on that it was her job to try and ensure she wasn’t a burden, that she didn’t aggravate people or make them leave her. That’s why she’s not close to her adoptive parents, or so she tries to tell herself when paranoia sets in. It’s very rare that she would call them 'mom’ or 'dad’ and when she does it’s usually regarded by her as a mistake, something that could hurt them. Even when she lived with them, she would spend a lot of time trying to be anywhere but in the house. Eventually they realiseed it wasn’t because she hated them, but because she loved them. She’d do anything for them, and they for her.

SHORT BIO:
there’s something about being on stage that brings Olivia out of her usually timid shell, and she isn’t entirely sure what it is.
mostly, Olivia tends to keep to herself; a trait she had learned when she had been dumped in to the foster system by her irresponsible parents at six years of age.
for her, it was better to keep your head down, instead of drawing attention to yourself. some of the children she was forced to spend her time with weren’t exactly the most welcoming.
her self-confidence had taken a beating from incessant, brutal bullying and the fact that nobody seemed to think enough of her to keep her around for very long hadn’t helped much, either. in fact, Olivia didn’t settle down for good until six years later, when she was adopted into a family who finally offered her the care she deserved. unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
in school, the only class that she ever put any effort in to was art, and dancing was something that she could become so lost in that she forgot about the judgmental world around her. it was the only time she was truly comfortable with herself.
she started in a pensioners dance class because she was running away. she stayed to watch, and had a cup of coffee with them. it was the first time she had ever heard of burlesque, but she wouldn’t hear of it again until many years later. in the meantime, she would join community dance classes at local gyms and centres at every new place she would live. went through so many styles before she reached burlesque. that’s why her performances are rarely repeated.
from the age of twenty-one, she had considered herself a professional burlesque performer. it came so naturally to her, people were almost envious of her talents. it was for this exact reason that a NY producer sought her out to become one of her dancers.
but unlike her alter ego, Jolene, Olivia doesn’t think higly of her looks. but she finds herself having to be careful and ensure she looks her best, even when she doesn’t imagine her best can be very good at all. outside of work, she doesn’t usually wear makeup at all (other than lipbalm), except to events.
olivia got married at the young age of 28 to an important businessman who used to be a regular at her shows. he was charming, handsome and the man she lost her virginity to. the first months into the marriage were a bliss, he had a reputation to uphold and Olivia was more than happy to be of help: she started to dress up and play the part for him. for it didn't take long until his infidelities got out of hand. the breaking point was when she had come home to find him with another woman in their attic. there was a lot of screaming involved, crying, and only a sardonic smile plastered on his face. “at last, you finally open your eyes”. she pushed for a divorce, but he made sure to be the one to come out on top. Olivia still blames herself for her ex husband’s cheating, still trying to find out what she had done to push him away and into someone else’s arms. in her mind, marriage shouldn’t be a temporary thing.
she spends a lot of time rehearsing, attending dance classes (various genres), and going walking. she used to go to a lot of gigs, but doesn’t anymore as she feels the extra pressure to impress her bosses. she paints a lot, preferring to paint murals rather than on canvas. surprisingly, she can’t sketch that well, as she needs colour.
when not in work, Olivia tends to wear skinny jeans mostly, in varying colours, with tanks or tees. if she’s leaving the house or needs to be less casual, it’s mostly shorts and shirts, casual dresses, with ankle boots or heels.
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
honestly i’m open to everything! regulars at the shows (maybe people who know her by her stage name but don’t know her outside of work), maybe people who knew her ex husband, friends she’s made here/friends she’s known for a long time, rivals, etc.
Not everyone can say they’ve been to the Big Apple, but [ CASSIE MORGAN ], a [ 27 ] year-old [ CIS FEMALE ] has lived in [ THE BRONX ] for [ SEVEN MONTHS ]. This is the city of dreams and [ SHE ] knows it, because they came to NYC to be an [ STRIPPER ]. Well, that and as an [ EMPLOYEE/STRIPPER ] to [ LUKAS VALE ]. Living in the city means they meet all kinds of people, but everyone always seems to think they look like [ SARAH HYLAND]. They even got away with free cab fare once because of it!
Hi hi hi I’m Georgia and I’m super excited to be here! This is Cassie and I’ve played a version of her for years and she’s a bit of a mess sometimes but she’s fun!!
Bio/info: (tw: cheating)
Cassie’s parents were very open and carefree, they had a small house in Burnaby, Canada and there was a constant stream of lodgers and friends of her family staying in their home. As she grew up she learned how to bake brownies from a lady named Janine, how to play hockey from an elderly man who refused to eat food prepared by others, and how to wax her legs from a girl who was only a few years older than she was. There were mushrooms she wasn’t allowed to eat, and her parents and friends spent nights smoking loudly in the kitchen while she tried to do her homework. Siblingless and with a large group of people in the house, Cassie was never without the doting attention of someone, and she grew used to having people pay attention for her, and as she grew older she made people pay attention to her, whether it be dancing alone in the middle of a pub or being the first to do something risky, like diving from the roof into the pool.
At eighteen she went to Vancouver University to study English, where she met Jason. They became close instantly, and partied together while he was still in his wild phase. Though Jason settled down, Cassie didn’t. She dated around, and she didn’t hold many boundaries on who she could and couldn’t be with even after leaving college. She never considered that much of a bad thing until she and Jason’s one night, which was not her first time with a married man. When Jason began to give her the silent treatment and avoid her like the plague, Cassie began to regret her actions, but also fumed in anger and jealousy. Cassie had known Jason longer and he was her closest friend, and she couldn’t figure out how he could find it so easy to completely cut her out of his life.
She heard from a friend of a friend that Jason and his wife Dana were moving away, and could only assume it was because of her. She wasn’t sure if Jason had told Dana or not, but she refused to let him leave without at least trying to make him stay. She went to Dana and told her everything, expecting them to change their mind and stay in the aftermath, or maybe he wouldn’t feel the need to run anymore, but they left anyway.
Cassie had never had a set path on where she was going with her life, she’d never had a passion that she intended to take into a profession, so she ended up becoming a waitress at a sleazy club. The pay was awful, but she was grateful she didn’t have to work in an office and be bossed about by people she couldn’t stand like her friends did. When one of the dancers called in sick one day, her boss put her up on stage to cover and Cassie liked the attention she got, so she decided to make it full time. Although her parents were free spirited, they didn’t react well to Cassie’s new job, and on a spur of the moment decision she decided that she would move to New York, partially to get away from her parents, and partially to escape the reputation she’d gained. She got a job in a club, and to appease her parents she agreed to go back to school for a crossover course from English to Law. Once she finishes and is able to get an internship, she promised she’d give up the dancing, though she’s not so sure of that.
Personality:
From the constant attention she received as a child, Cassie has become outgoing and confident, and trusts that everything she does is good. Sometimes this can come off as vain and entitled although she doesn’t intend to, and if pointed out she will settle down for a while. Generally she is kind and polite but does have a fiery side that comes out when someone upsets her. She is strongwilled when she knows she wants something, but is indecisive in her choices and can spend an hour choosing what movie to watch or what topping to put on pizza if given the option. She can be petty and vindictive, but loyal and eager to help if she likes someone.
Connections:

Name: Charles Valmont
Age: 53
He/Him, Cisgender man, Heterosexual
Enneagram 9
Cancer Sun, Taurus Moon, Libra Rising
When Charles Valmont was 19 years old, with a whole lot less grey hair and a whole lot more flexibility in his joints, he couldn't take his eyes off of Vivi Klein. He'd grown used to the prim and proper of New York's social elite, the Valmonts as old money as they come, but there was something different about the way she carried herself. How she held her shoulders back and chin up and still could turn at any moment with a mischievous little smile.
He's said it many times over thirty-something years: Charles knew he was going to marry Vivi from the moment they met. And with their families' enthusiasm for the match, it seemed like a fairytale. A fairytale without all the complicated stuff, just the happy ending and the riding off into the sunset with everyone cheering them on. He adored her: how she surprised him, how she supported him and others around her, how she worried about everyone but herself. Charles felt like sometimes he couldn't get enough of her, especially not in those first few years. It wasn't a surprise when the children came at all, beautiful and lovely.
While Charles worked hard, it's the kind of working hard that a certain class does: keep doing the same things to keep the same kind of money flowing, no more no less. He much preferred the time he spent with his family, all the vacations and holidays and peaceful mornings during the weekend.
And life was perfect. So, so incredibly perfect. And it still is! Oh, how happy is he, to be growing old with the only love of his life, the--
Well. There is this one...tiny thing. It's really very small. Microscopic, really, in the grand scheme of things. Maybe he's just imagining it. It's just...
When the kids moved out, after the empty nest emotions had settled, things became different. Different, that's all. (Is that all?) Charles is trying so hard not to overreact, really, but it's difficult when the person he's relied on for over thirty years to share her mind with him is suddenly seeming very far away. The hands he always wanted to hold feel a little colder, flit away from his a little quicker. The soft skin of her neck, her chest, her stomach...her body is curled away from him when he tries to sleep, distant memories plaguing him of when he could hold her so easily.
But it's going to have to be fine. It has to be. Because when he's built his life on being a husband, a father, the boss who just really loves his wife...he doesn't know how such a distance could affect his identity. He doesn't know where to start.
Character Traits
+++ Family-oriented: While Charles Valmont can have a poker face when he gets to work, that all drops as soon as he walks through the door at home. His happiest memories are those of his children running down the hallway to greet him, Vi not far behind. He ties his strength to the strength of the family; the inverse is also true. If his family is struggling, so is he. He's only as happy as the least happy member of his family.
+++ Reliable: He's been teased for his habits, some calling it a lack of adventure, but Charles would prefer reliable. He has his routine, carved into stone, and he sticks to it. If he says he's going to be somewhere, he'll be there.
+++ Persistent: Maybe it's optimism, maybe it's drive. Either way, he doesn't give up when he feels he has to do something.
--- Rigid: Charles has an idea of what makes him happy and what's best for him, and he does not want to mess with it. Or let anyone else mess with it. If there's a problem, it means he just needs to get back to a baseline of peace, rather than really change.
--- Clingy: If Charles likes a person, let alone if he loves a person, he doesn't let go. It means that old friends stay friends, even if they've grown apart and can't find much in common anymore. It means that he keeps reaching for affection where there isn't any, too, hoping for something different.
--- Conflict-avoidant: He likes to think he's gotten better at this, and he's able to think back to some pretty major fights that he and Vi have hashed out...but the truth is that he much prefers to smooth over rough patches rather than digging up the roots. He'd much prefer a band-aid than a huge amount of change. With his kids, friends, and neighbors, Charles would much prefer to let things sit on the surface and seek out at least a superficial peace.

brief history
the davis family is to put it quite plainly, a fucking mess. it started out fairly typical. boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy and girl get married and have a baby. and then that baby ends up in foster care as a toddler. oh wait, that’s not typical. just the short end that leo was given by life, and man did life continue to give him a number of short ends. let’s back track at little.
leo’s mom passed away when he was three years old. growing up everyone had told him she passed because she was sick. when he was old enough to find out what really happened, he regretted it. her autopsy had stated she had died from accidental poisoning, but he knew how to read between the lines. a young couple with a newborn in Brooklyn in that economy? leo’s poor father only made it three more months before he had succumb to his own vices, and figured his child was better off at some home ran by nuns.
now you’d think, okay, a toddler would have a fine time getting adopted, but it became clear that his terrible toddler years weren’t a phase. he had bounced around from family to family till he was deemed too old to be desirable. leo was generally a quiet kid until this burst of energy would charged right through him. then he was loud, uncontrollable, and almost unattainable. the nuns had claimed he was possessed, but without looking through the narrow eye of religion, it was clear he needed help. but even as an adult he had never found the help he needed. he still deals with inability to communicate his emotions in a healthy way. he chooses vices to keep them subdued. hell, his own livelihood is one to mimic emotion and make others believe it.
work
through everything, leo found solace in watching the black and white tv in the game room, and reading every bit of dr. suess and shakespeare he could get his hands on. he admired the way things always seemed to work out so well on the screen. how things were always so perfect when planned, written, and especially how they were portrayed. he was in love with that aspect and knew that he could act just as well.
he had success in beginning of his so called acting career. he was a vessel of pure potential. but even with a degree of performance arts from nyu, leo couldn’t be what they were all looking for. notes of being too aggressive, too intense, and too much had him fall back to teaching or live on the streets. he wouldn’t have guessed it but teaching all the ingenues and having their careers begin to bloom before his eyes was his own personal hell. he would watch as they took his advice and become far more than he’d ever be. the only thing that kept him going were three things. one, the money for he made was decent, and kept him comfortable in his townhome in manhattan. two, he could at least live vicariously. three, he could afford to forget it all at dive bar on the 9th.
love
somehow leo met his wife in a cinematic meet cute. it was perfect. too perfect. too perfectly easy. their love affair moved in a way where an outsider could look at them and fill in the passion that wasn’t there. at least it wasn’t there for him. he loved her but didn’t know if that love held any depth. but somehow he made her happy. he didn’t understand himself but he continued through the motions long enough for him to believe that there was something between them rather than connivence. he gave her what she needed to keep her happy. a ring and a home, just anything other than himself.
no, he reserved his true self for words on a screen. his affair was new and he didn’t deem it as an affair. he was seemingly just getting along with someone who understood him better. someone like himself. someone who wasn’t perfect and didn’t expect him to be.

Ex Boyfriend: However things ended for them, they’re still close friends. She’s been reaching out more often and he’s been part of her support system with everything going on with her husband
New Character:
Husband (probably soon to be ex): He cheated and they’re currently separated. She’s very much on the fence about ending her marriage of fifteen years completely.
Step son: Husbands kid from first marriage (21yo) She’s very close with him
OOC
I’m usually up for just about anything so just reach out and say hi! I don’t have any triggers, incase one might be wondering if they missed them
