Mateo and Luna and leaning their head on mine’s shoulder tiredly?
This takes place right after Race for the Realm.
"I messed up," Mateo mumbled.
"Oh come Mateo, I messed up too and I'm fine, everyone messes up." Luna leaned lower on her paws to try and see Mateo's face, but he was tightly covering himself with his arms and knees drawn to his chest.
"But not like that! I got completely obsessed with the scepter and almost ruined the whole mission and endangered everyone and almost let Shuriki win and- and dragged you into abandoning the plan and-"
"Okay now slow down there, Mateo," Luna cut him off. "First of all you didn't drag me into anything, that was my decision. I mean yes, that was a stupid decision but still mine. And second, didn't your friends already talk it out with you and forgiven you?"
Mateo mumbled something incoherently but didn't move an inch.
"You know what my approach to this things is?" Luna laughed awkwardly. "I just say to myself that if it's something Migs is already going to scold me about, there is no point in beating myself up for him."
No response. Luna sighed.
"Well if there's no other way."
She came closer to Mateo and leaned on him, laying her head on his shoulder. He flinched and finally curled out of his protective position.
"What are you doing?" He asked trying to turn his head to look at her.
"You just looked like you could use that," Luna purred snuggling into the side of his neck.
Mateo fell silent. For a long minute he didn't move and Luna started to wonder if maybe she made a mistake... until finally he seemed to relax a little and later his head on hers.
