Wonderful crossover edit! If you think about it, Varian and Carla have more in common than one might think. They were both raised by single fathers, and both of them love their fathers so much would move mountains for them-and their fathers would do the same for them❤️ And of course, Varian and Carla both lost their fathers in horrible ways. Varian & Quirin and Victor & Carla are my favorite father-child relationships. Change my mind.

I agree with you on this, Now that I think more about it they do have similar stories. They are also different in some way as well. ( yes I am about to rant because this is a good point I canon thisXD)

As we can see here our adorable bean here is terrified as he sees his father encased. Now to prove your point yes he was raised by Quirin since he was a baby, we know he had a mother but no one knows what happened to her. (Thanks Disney😒) Quirin did raise Varian by himself most of his life, and Varian did love his dad because as we know all he wanted was to prove himself to his dad and make him proud of him. We know Varian never wanted to become evil of bad but unfortunate events happened and caused this poor boi to turn to evil and do anything to free his dad from his mistake.

Now for Carla and Victor, Carla had a mother of her own just like Varian did. Both mothers disappeared for years who knows why leaving their husbands to take care of their children. As we can see Carla and Victor in the beginning wanted to be evil Malvagos, it was their dream to be the best Malvagos and the most wanted in Avalor. Varian on the other hand didn’t want to become evil but was pushed more so to it.

Now as we can see here Varian got his father back after a whole year of trying to free him, thanks to raps for learning the decay incantation. Varian in the end as we know redeemed himself and proved himself by helping defeat the Siphorians and admitted that he wanted to be on the right side of the law, and only did what he did to try and free his father. Varian is pardoned and lives somewhat happy now that his father was back but has to be reminded and live with his mistakes.

Now with Carla and Victor, Carla had a change of heart because she finally saw the truth of what her mother was. I mean Turing her father the one who raised her and was there for her into a statue was the last straw for her. We know she felt terrible for what happened, and was willing to help if it meant for her to have her Father back. After they freed Victor that’s when she started having a change of heart and they both realized that family was more important than anything else. That’s when they wanted to make amends and make up for what they did to Elena and Avalor. So in conclusion I canon with your idea of Varian and Victor and Carla have very similar stores and both their redemption arcs in my opinion were done well.

Sorry I did or was not planning on doing an analysis but your idea made my brain begin to think and had to share what I thought of it😏. This was my first time doing something like this so I’m sorry if it’s not very understandable, i just really love these two show heh💖

Victor and Ash’s relationship is interesting. They married and even had a child together, so perhaps there was once something. Though I wonder how it deteriorated. Especially since Ash must have met Victor many years after her pet mice were stolen by Zopilote.

I agree and honestly I’m not really sure. I do believe they may both have loved each other at one time which is why they had Carla, but maybe the relationship started steering away because Ash wasn’t really good at taking care of Carla.

Like I picture Victor taking care and attending to Carla more than Ash, maybe there was some conflict there and when Ash decided to leave to become a Malvago that’s when the relationship ended. Which would also kinda make sense why Carla was and is more attached to her Father than her mother, because he was the one that took care of her and really loved her. These are just some thoughts that came to my mind about why their relationship was different.😅

Hi! I saw a post where you compared Varian and Carla and another where you talked about Varian and the Seven Kingdoms. It just struck me, but if Varian and the Seven Kingdoms were canon, than not only would Varian and Carla have both been raised by single fathers, but had power hungry mothers. From the little I know of Varian and the Seven Kingdoms, it seems that Ulla became obsessed with The Eternal Library similar to how Ash became obsessed with Takaina.

Hello! Yes you are correct. This is the picture that @kritterart shared with Disney where Ulla sings a song i believe on how proud she is of Varian, but the only way to be freed is to take possession of her son. Which is the image that you see here. I’m not sure Ulla was really obsessed with The Eternal Library, I think she was just like Varian where she was Eager to share the knowledge and magic of the Eternal Library with the world.

Now Ash is a different story, I agree that Ash did become obsessed with Takaina. I honestly think she was always obsessed with magic and having power, because as we see in the show that why she left Carl and Victor, she was always obsessed with Magic while Ulla on the other hand wasn’t. She just wanted to share The Eternal Library with everyone, but her friend Donella had different plans causing Ulla to be trapped in the Eternal Library. These are just my thoughts, I know everyone sees differently and that’s okay 🙂. I honestly really like Varian and the seven kingdoms of it was canon, plus I do see the similarities in both Ash and Ulla story wise.

Such a great analysis of Varian, Vice and Carla! Though I don’t think it was “Tge Lightning Warrior” where Victor and Carla realized the importance of family, but before then. When Carla nearly fell to her death, causing Victor to realize that power wasn’t worth it without her. In the first episodes of season 3, all Carla cared about was saving Victor, in contrast to Ash being solely focused on gaining the power of the Crystal Forge.

Yes I agree with you completely anon! I love how they made these characters redemption arcs and how much they have grown. You can see how much they have learned and grown, Admitting to their mistakes and trying their best to redeem themselves and owning up to their mistakes they had done. There were still some things they could have done better and wish we could have seen in the shows but All in all I absolutely love Varian, Victor, and Carla redemption arcs. Better than some other redemption arcs I won’t mention *coughs* Cassandra *coughs*.

I 100 agree with you on Ash! I hear people say that overtime her “love” for her family faded away, but I never got that impression. I don’t think she ever truly loved Victor and Carla at any point in the Series. She did genuinely love Carla, but power always came first for her. She said that after she left to become a Malvago that she would train Victor. There are parents and spouses who leave or whose job requires them to leave home. But they find ways to keep contact. Ash didn’t.

Yep I agree 100% I do believe in the beginning she did love her family, but once she left to become a Malvago and gained power that love eventually faded away and was taken over by power or her love of power. I do believe she loved Carla more than Victor but not to the extent to where she would do anything for her, like every time Carla had doubts or wanted to go get her father Ash would always be there to steer her away.

I honestly think she never did like Victor, because Carla cared so much for her father while Ash really didn’t. I think Carla knew that but was brushing it off because she couldn’t believe it, that was of course till she saw Ash turn her father into stone that’s when she knew that her mother loved power more than her family.

The reason Victor and Carla wanted to become Malvagos was so they could get respect from others. Ash, only wanted to be a Malvago for power alone. But after she disappeared, Victor and Carla thought she was dead. Perhaps they thought that Ash would have wanted them to achieve their goal in “death.” But...even after becoming Malvagos, were Victor and Carla truly happy? Eventually, they realized that they didn’t need power. All they ever truly wanted, needed, was each other. I’m proud of them!

I couldn’t have said it better myself😉. I mean look at this picture!💖 If you were asking me if they were truly happy, I would say no. Carla and Victor weren’t truly happy because if you see the episodes sometimes Carla would be second guessing herself, but Victor would always encourage her that being Malvagos is what they wanted. I think when Carla was pretending to be someone else (Rita) I believe that’s when she started to doubt herself because Elena and Mateo were being nice to her. These are just my thoughts on why I think they weren’t really happy and as the saying goes “ once you have what you have dreamt of, you realize that it’s not what you really wanted at all.” Or something like that heh.
