Hunting Ground

Attending this DRC event was such an eye opener, I personally did not know, or knew I known, any victims of sexual assault. So this made this issue very real and not so distant. I think awareness is most important when it comes to this topic

Our last plenary with our mentors has been a true testament to how much I have learned this semester in Knowledge and Power. We have touched on so many social issues such as racism, sexism, portal of women in media, women in stem, poverty, and self love. I was able to reflect on what ive learned on these issues during the plenary

I personally do not follow a religion and think part of the reason that I don’t isn’t because I have an issue with spirituality, but rather the disgust of how woman are negatively portrayed in many religions. It was eye opening comforting in a way to listen the stories of female deities and spiritual figures from across the world.

In all honesty, I have never heard of National Public Radio until today. After class I went to the NPR website to listen to some of Pam Fessler’s recent stories. It was refreshing to listen to her stories which were intelligently approached and honestly told. What I found best about her reporting was how she presented poverty in a tangible and relatable way, which is fairly unique in reporting. She successfully opened my eyes today
