Just last week, the spaceman announced who will be joining him on stage and even offered a few surprises. Richie Scarlet will perform rhythm guitar and vocal duties. Ritchie played rhythm guitar on Ace’s Trouble Walking album and also toured with Ace in the mid 80s and early 90s. Chris Wyse, on bass and vocals, has played bass in The Cult since 2006. He also previously recording with Ozzy Osbourne and can be heard on select tracks on Space Invader. Scott Coogan will play drums in the touring lineup, and is a Frehley touring band veteran who was also a member of Nikki Sixx’s Brides of Destruction recording and touring band in 2004. "I can't wait to hit the road again with this new lineup," says Frehley. "Let there be rock!"
Ace Frehley made history with Space Invader, which debuted at #9 on the Top 200 Chart. The LP scored the highest charting position of any KISS solo album ever, and marks Frehley's first return to the Top 10 since KISS's 1998 Psycho Circus reunion album. Listen to the hit single "Gimme a Feelin'" here.
Space Invader, Frehley's first studio album in five years, has also received praise from critics. Rolling Stone wrote, "Gene Simmons has claimed Ace Frehley doesn't deserve to wear Kiss' Kabuki clown paint, but the former Spaceman's first solo LP in five years says otherwise," while Associated Press hailed, "the original Kiss lead guitarist has recorded his best solo album since his groundbreaking self-titled album in 1978." Paste Magazine also confirmed, "Space Invader is a good rock album, and it’s an even better guitar record."
