Chapter 3 has been coming along! Look at these cutiiiies. :) Over the next couple of chapters we get to know Emrys a little more from Naymora's POV.

This chapter combines a few major scenes that could have probably been divided into shorter chapters, but I felt it's appropriate to keep them together. So that's why it's taking a while, it's a long chapter! I already have chapter 4 scripted for once chapter 3 is done, and it'll be a shorter wait.

Minor update, but the next chapter for Eulogy of Starlight is 34 pages! (Not including cover image/extra end pages) For reference, chapter 3 was 40 pages w/o the extras, so it's pretty similar length. I originally intended my standard chapter length to be ~25, but it's seeming more and more like the things I want to do just don't fit that length oops... I mean 30 average would be fine too.

I wanted to release it before SDCC, but with artfight and also work, it's just not feasible to do so omg this month is sooo busy.

The good news though is that this chapter doesn't require as many scenes to be painted, so it shouldn't be as time consuming. I'm not going to give an ETA though, we'll get there when we get there.

Chapter 3 is still coming along well! Since it's 3 scenes combined, it's a 40 page chapter (after a bit of tweaking to make it a bit shorter, it was like 43 before lmfao). This is why it's taking a bit longer since normally I try to keep my chapters anywhere between 15-25 pages. Consider the Katolis tour a special chapter.

Anyway, here's more of Emrys! He's such a cuuutie.

Fun fact: He is a last minute addition to the comic. He was actually supposed to be in Del Bar in his own unique storyline, but I realized he was perfect for something I needed! So instead of creating a whole new character, I figured I'd push back his storyline to arc 2 and let him frolic in arc 1. Given... the way he is, I'm surprised he gets along with Naymora so well lmao.

Also yes this account is still shadowbanned since like January. I saw stuff about Tumblr staff being cut even more, so I expect to be like this for at least a year. I still don't know if it's worth remaking this blog because it might get the same thing happening to it, and then I'm just back to square one again... I feel like posting major announcements on my main account is working fine?

TDP: EoS chapter 2 progress update (and some general yapping)

The entire chapter has been scripted and thumbnailed and is ready for illustrating (it has been for a few weeks fjkdlg), I'm just spending a couple weeks working on a short animatic as a little treat for my birthday on the 14th before I continue!

(Minor self-promo paragraph) I'm trying really hard to finish that animatic on time, so you should be able to see a post about it on my main @kurizeria ☺️. It's the same kind of style as all my other animatics on my youtube, and I'll also be posting it there anyway (which btw all my animatics on YT are TDP based at the time I'm posting this, so like. wink wonk). Although it's not made with the focus of it being canon to EoS' timeline, I guess it's technically canon since it's involved in a certain part of an OC's story, and I'd probably reference it if the OC ever brought the subject up or thought about it.

ANYWAY. ETA on chapter 2 will prooobably be after S7's release since it's much longer than the introductory chapter and although I wish I was a speed demon, I am but one sleepy person 🤔 I should probably look at making some reusable assets and brushes LOL. Not sure what all I'll be redrawing regularly yet that making a brush out of could lift the load for, but I'm sure by chapter 3 or 4 I'll figure it out!

Well, at the very least for time management (so it doesn't take me like 2 years just to get to chapter 12 or w/e broooo), I was planning to be a bit more light on the backgrounds after ch1. Kind of like how the official TDP comics often times have white or single colour/simple backgrounds in less important or dialogue moments that focus on the character's face (but still have more detailed backgrounds where needed), so that'll help make things way easier, especially so I can focus more on some characters whose designs might be more time consuming to repeatedly draw (looking at you Ateris). I just wanted the introductory chapter to be pretty :D
