I know, narratively, Ichigo is only shocked Ishida would use that old line as an excuse after everything they've been through, but out of context it looks like he forgot basic, Day One info.

Then, it's hilarious that apparently nobody informed Ishida about either Ichigo's bloodline or that he can use Blut. As if King Greasy and Jugrum were having tea together and decided "Just wait, it'll be funny."

Another flaw in Ishida's plan: How did he know Ichigo wouldn't use Blut when he blew that giant shark-bite out of Ichigo's chest? Does Blut go by will? Are they saying Ichigo was so distraught over fighting Ishida that when he stopped he actually lost the will to live? That there was a "hole" in the left side of Ichigo's chest too? Delicious food if so.
