Pair of French Dueling Swords, 19th Century

Made in Klingenthal, straight blades of triangular section, with hollow facets, short tang with signature 'Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal'. Brass mounts, sword-shells decorated with net and relieved frames. Wooden grips, covered with metallic wire binding (to fix). Pommels decorated with floral motifs with grooved base. length 105 cm.

A Pair of European Dueling Swords, 19th Century

Straight blade of triangular section with hollowed facets (some pitting). Iron mounts with sword-shells decorated in bass-relief and pierced with grapevines and bunches of grapes and with traces of gilding. Grips of square section with iron wire bindings. Big, iron pommels decorated in bass-relief en suite with the sword-shells.
