I know. I know. All of this has been said before. But, Zuko has the best redemption arc of all time.
I mean, he was raised with no friends. He was selfish, and solved most things with brute force. He lived for years, while hunting the avatar, thinking he had failed his father and his country. And he wasn’t even the worst that has come out of that family.
But boiling rock, is where he really meets his stride. He finds a friend in Sokka, a guy who hated him before both Katara and Aang. He was supportive of Sokka‘s idea, cause he knows that he’s smart. He even comforts him when Sokka thinks he is a complete failure, telling him what he had to learn the hard way.
That it was ok to fail.
Most people think that Zuko wasn’t really apart of the group until Aang, or Katara came around, but that really started with Sokka.
And even without being a able to bend, Sokka’s the rock. The voice of reason (believe it or not).
Sokka, a warrior, who had trained his whole life to fight the fire nation till his last dying breath, had forgiven him.
And he made him his friend.
