Final Wave

What's the best way to finish an epic surf trip? Paddle into yet another incredibly long and big wave that takes you all the way to the beach. Walk back to the point and paddle out again. While paddling out, and so close to making it outside to the lineup, get caught inside a couple set waves. Once you're at the end of your energy, dive under a random barreling wave that snaps your leash and leaves you without a board inside the set waves. Thank god there's a SUP surfer within waving distance (first one you've seen this whole trip). Thank him for his generosity as the two of you ride his board in toward the beach. Swim over to your board. Ride it the rest of the way in. Live to tell the tale and laugh about it's irony. --- Thank you La Puntilla.
