Hi, could you share the name of the website you got your epilepsy info on? I have been trying to develop a better understanding of what can and can't be a trigger for it (so I can properly tag the things I make).
Also I love that you are making an epilepsy safe version of your videos!
(context is: prev post in this blog was reblog of post saying that we need epilepsy safe versions of content and i said in addition that i now do my videos with epi friendly version and more epi friendly features, including trying not making them epi triggering in general)
i am happy to share!
it's https://www.epilepsy.com
(yeah it's same with website archive.org. like, "hey i know website with archive of like, everything - omg which one - archive.org . idk its a bit funny to me)
detailed answer under the cut
here is my videos description part from youtube which tells good about it:

Details from #EPIFRIENDLY disclaimer:
1) Epi-Safe Visual Version
(here i put link to epi safe version of a video)
According to the website about epilepsy https://www.epilepsy.com
Article “Shedding Light on Photosensitivity, One of Epilepsy's Most Complex Conditions?”
Quoting (the article): “What Causes Light-Induced Seizures? […] [one of the reasons is] The area the light stimulus occupies in the visual field. […] the consensus recommends the area of the flashing stimulus on the screen be not greater than 25 percent of the total area.” End of quote (of article).
Based on that information, I made versions of videos, which takes 25% of the screen for you to check if you not sure about watching full version first or at all

[end of description quote]
how i am sure it is 25% - i edit my big videos in after effects, so then i have finished version i just make another project, put video there and make "scale" parameter of it to 25% instead of 100%
well i am not sure i am making it perfectly or smth. but i am trying, because i am to tired to see zero effort on making content safe or even things which seems like ment to hurt - like, what is this thing with first instagram vid filter is some flashy thing. if you start to pay attention to that - it is so annoyingly frustrating
Happy Pride, everyone! Here is a second version of my compilation that I have been working on of colorful pictures and gifs. This one is strictly without flashing, without blinkies, and with minimal high-contrast stripes. I will also be adding to this one through the month.
As someone who's in a heavily performance based field, I have a question for the epileptics of Tumblr:
What would make a show epilepsy friendly? Obviously strobe lights are a big no no, but would non-strobe fast light changes or colored light changes trigger a seizure? I'm just not well educated on this. Help me out.
how to keep your tumblr friendly and safe for epileptics
First of all, epilepsy comes all different ways. I am talking about epileptics that can actually look at screens.
Second of all, I don't have epilepsy and so please add to this if you know more.
Step 1: NOTHING on your blog which has flashing lights
Step 2: NOTHING on your blog that starts making noise randomly
Step 3: NOTHING on your blog that tells people to blow on their screens.
Step 4: CHECK. A LOT.
Step 5: gentle colours- safe from eye strain
Step 6: have an ask box
Step 7: let people know its epilepsy friendly!!
Step 8: BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU REBLOG!
Step 9: if you have a 2nd, non-epilepsy safe blog, TAG ALL EPILEPSY WARNINGS!! This is really important!!
Step 10: Encourage people to send an ask if anything isn't epilepsy friendly.
Note: You might be thinking ‘oh but if they have epilepsy, then they can just leave the blog!’ This isn't true, at least in most cases it is false. People with epilepsy are often drawn to bright and flashing lights. Don't expect them to be able to leave so easily!!
Disco Elysium collage mode is my fav thing in the world
p.s. okay there is no flashes but i forgot to mention cartoon sound of "looking for thing in garbage" (i reduced volume of this effect to 60% so it sounds not so desturbing and it's short) + it's video of futages of me making video by phone of my computer screen so it's a little wavy. but i did montage of it and watched like million times so, not much i guess
i can't watch flickering lights myself, so yeah, it's cool montage in juicy part with nice moves but no flickering lights.
if you have strong epy symptoms better to ask friend to check if it's really fine. i want to make more epilepsy friendly videos (and we need it! i mean, tumblr doesn't even has "epilepsy friendly" hashtag? come on) i am sure at first it will not be perfect but i want to start with something. with not including that flashy light effects for example, why are they even an soft default options in the first place wtf
