Oh, what a musician. He made glittery music in the 60s, mostly playing covers, starting with The Walker Brothers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eAxCVTMJ-I), and later as a solo singer. He then disappeared, only to return as an avant-garde-crooner. Being one of the seldom occurrences where a video really adds to the music, I had to pick this song. It is certainly no background music. It is not comforting. But when you grant it your attention, it will pay off.
