Bolin x Eska. Not healthy but also not abusive

Everyone seems to share opinions about Avatar Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, so I will too.

So... Bolin x Eska...

Even thought it was not a healthy relationship, I don't think it was abusive.

Hear me out.

Their relationship is not about abuse but a bad mix of expectations and lack of communication. This may be the first time they both had a romantic relationship and they expected different things. Bolin wants to have fun, nothing too serious. But he doesn't have the guts to tell Eska that he is not ready to commit. Eska wants too much from the relationship too fast, probably planned how many children they would have the moment Bolin first flirted with her. And she doubles down when Bolin finally tries to tell her its not working. Sure, she is creepy, demanding and practically glued to her brother... But she doesn't try to force Bolin to do anything, she just assumes he has no issue being a mix of boytoy and servant and she is used to getting her way. And Bolin doesn't say anything out of a mix of finding her hot and terrifying.

Love that they manage to mellow out a little so they can part on good terms, that Bolin finally man up to put effort into the relationship, even accepting that Eska's brother is part of the package deal and that Eska realizing that it is not going to work, even if they both want it to. I think it is a good failed relationship that they both learned from.
