my starlight design for my ‘starlight wins’ au nextgen :)) born to the name ‘spectrolite shimmer’ shes an earth pony who was raised by rock farmers and utilised specialised earth pony crystal magic to do the magic feats she does in the show.

each of the cmcs is disabled! they end up bonding over their disabilities rather than their lack of cutie marks. scootaloo has underdeveloped wings, sweetie belle has a stunted horn and applebloom has paralysed hind quarters.
scootaloo
a local nuisance-filly and general societal menace, scootaloo looks up to and greatly admires rainbow dash, the leader of the rebellion. refusing to fit in with the same grey crowd, she acts out and generally terrorises citizens of ponyville. having run away from an abusive home situation, scootaloo lives on the streets and steals food to get by.
apple bloom
with a passion for alchemy and a penchant for not letting anything hold her back, apple bloom loves to help around the farm even if she can’t buck the trees like the rest of her family. she just wishes that her sister wasn’t so stressed out all the time.
sweetie belle
sweetie is just as talented at and passionate about singing as her sister is at sewing, but she spends most of her time trying to figure out just what secret her sister is keeping from her.
fluttershy and pinkie pie equalverse concepts
front-facing leader of the rebellion against starlight glimmer, rainbow dash was a humble weather pony with big ambitions before starlight came to power. once she did, the stifling existence of life without a cutie mark became too hard to bear for rainbow and he began acting out, vandalising propaganda posters and stealing supplies from the local barracks. eventually this grew to the point where she could no longer keep her actions secret and she started a full on rebellion leading the charge against starlight’s tyranny.
the rebellion’s symbol is a crossed out equal sign and the members of the rebellion paint it over their flanks as a ‘screw you’ to the fact that their cutie marks have been taken.
