The 180th Birthday of the Canadian Equestrian Team
The Canadian Equestrian Team has marked its 180th birthday. On 23 Oct 1840, Walter Jones became the earliest recorded team athlete. He rode in Steeplechase for "The Canadas", the short-lived colonial union preceding confederation.
The generations of men, women, and horses who followed Jones help build not only our sport, but also our country.
These flags hang in my horses' run-in, and are from my time as head of the national federation and team.
