out flew the web and floated wide // the mirror cracked from side to side
ever since i saw @ancharan's art with ford weaving i've been thinking about Ford At The Loom, more specifically tennyson's the lady of shalott. like. something about. wasn't ford weaving (hunting cryptids in gravity falls) & feeling Vaguely Dissatisfied with it until he saw lancelot (bill)?? & then The Curse Was Upon Him & his entire life became Destined to be all about bill forever & ever until the end of time, but to bill he wasn't half as significant (in the beginning anyway).
i was thinking about paintings of the lady of shalott & wanted show the moment at which the mirror cracks. i wanted to do a billford version of this painting
which is in itself a 1960s reimagining of this one by waterhouse
i was thinking about ford tangled in bill, in his Destiny, as the lady is tangled in her loom - a moment of shattering realisation, of looking directly into a bright golden sun & knowing yourself forever changed. ∆
