에티모틱 리서치는 플랫하고 심심한 사운드를 표현하는 브랜드라는 선입견이 있었던 것이 사실이지만, ER4XR 리뷰를 위해 청음하면서 이러한 선입견은 별다른 노력 없이 싹 사라졌다. 우선 플랫하면서도 가장 사실적인 사운드 표현을 해주는 제품이라는 생각은 했지만 ‘플랫=심심함’이라는 공식은 성립하지 않는다는 점을 확실히 알게된 것이다.

  선명하고 깨끗하지만 심심하지는 않은 소리가 돋보이며, 이는 저음이 어느 정도 강화되었기 때문이 아닌가 생각한다. 그냥 들어봤을 때 ‘좋은 제품’ 이라는 느낌은 확실하게 받을 수 있다고나할까. 그만큼 소리표현에 있어 상당히 매력적인 제품이다. 화려한 튜닝으로 자극적인 사운드를 즐기는 유저들에게는 여전히 심심할 수 있겠지만 원음에 가까우면서도 저음이 강화되어 심심하지 않은…
