💗🐦 HISTORY LESSON 🐦💗
In Greek mythology, Erato (Ερατώ, ‘Friendly’ or ‘Loving’) is the muse of poetry, especially of love poetry. Like all muses, she is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne (memory). Since the Renaissance, she is represented crowned with myrtle and roses, carrying a small lyre or a zither in her hands. In other iconographies she is represented with a golden arrow, reminiscent of ‘eros’, that feeling that she inspires. At her feet, there are usually two turtledoves pecking and, sometimes, beside her is the winged love (the god Eros).
