SOUTHAMPTON ASSISTANT MANAGER ADMITS VAN DJIK IS SET TO JOIN CHELSEA
Southampton assistant manager-Eric Black has admitted in an interview he granted to talkSPORT that Van Djik is set to join Chelsea after he revealed that the Dutch defender is a top target for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The Dutch defender has emerged as one of the best centre-backs in Premier League since joining the Saints from Celtic in 2015.
The 25-year-old is reportedly valued at £50m by the…

It was difficult not to draw a wry smile as the news emerged Thursday evening that former Villa coach and caretaker was embroiled in the latest reveal from the Telegraph.
Black, who also had a stint in the blue half of Birmingham, is allegedly captured on video offering advice concerning how to bribe staff at lower league clubs.
In response, the former Scottish international has vehemently denied the allegations.
Through a spokesperson, Black has denied the claims, refutes the suggestions made in the report and that the portrayals of the discussions are false.
Black stood in following the brief and failed stint of Frenchman Remi Garde at the close of the disastrous 2015/2016 season.
His time at Villa was mired through repeated puzzling team selections, and entailed a brief reign which managed a solitary draw alongside six defeats (1 point from 21 available).

Black left Villa Park in the summer of 2016 and promptly took up the assistant manager role at Southampton, who have commented only to say that they will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
If there was one thinly veiled comment of note on social media, it came from former centre half Jores Okore.
Okore, who was banished to the development squad during the closing weeks of his Villa career, found himself infamously accused by Black of refusing a place on the bench. An accusation which the Danish defender disputes to this day.
There is no suggestion or allegation at this time that any of Black’s wrongdoing occurred whilst he was in post at Aston Villa.
