Eric doesn't mind being called "Father" in like... The religious sense. Because he just sees it as a job title.
Being referred to as "Father" in the parental sense, however, makes him uncomfortable. He doesn't like that. Probably also doesn't help that it doubles as your kid calling you your job title unintentionally, lmao.
