I just watched Eric LaRue

Digital release today 4/11/25

This photo is now funnier than ever. Ron LaRue and Jesus share a soda after Jesus has taken Ron's burdens from him. (Janice, Ron's wife, asks when does Jesus give your burdens back?).

The movie is well-acted throughout. It has a lot to say about school bullying, the socially inept couple with the shy, different child, and religion as a catch-all for all the vapid edges of society.

Alex gives Ron depth I doubt would be seen in real life - but it makes the boner-hiding dimwit far more interesting to us. The neck massage meaning is revealed and revealing. It's a good film that should be seen.

I'm the embarrassment who usually cries at movies, but I had no tears for any of these people. Perhaps because they were everywhere I grew up, I've seen too many instances of all of this movie (except actually shooting people). The church pastors believe they are the mouthpieces of god and find they are as inept dealing with tragedy among their flock as the backsides of "friends" running away from the grieving parents.

I am very interested in any of your comments about the movie.
