when he tries to cheer her up with a fake magic performance between the two of them with a silent audience and everything

when sam gave eric her sweater with the note already in it because she’d been planning that all along

when sam entrusted her cat to eric knowing he’d take care of him

at the end of aqpdo, sam, eric, and frodo get on the boat and live together and they play piano and dance and do close up magic and write poems about each other and live happily ever after amen. idc idc

I watched A Quiet Place: Day One for the first time recently and this was basically my experience

Expectation: Scary alien invasion movie ft. Eddie from Stranger Things

Reality: Having a mental breakdown over Eric and Sam looking after each other the whole movie

it's the way that they needed each other

it's the way that he looks at her

it's the way she holds his hand for a moment after he gets back with her meds

it's the way she tries to calm him down during his panic attacks

it's his determination to find her pizza

it's her shock and smile after his card trick

it's his quiet "i'm here, i'm here"

it's her picking out new shoes for him

it's him offering to help her stand up outside of the bookshop

it's her holding his face when he's panicking

it's him putting on a show for her

it's her offering to let him stay in her apartment to get out of the rain

it's him giving her his coat

it's her giving him her dad's cardigan

it's him risking his life to get her meds

it's her sharing her poem with him

it's him telling her "but before, we get pizza."

it's her causing a distraction for him to get away

it's the way they helped each other live again

this movie has made me unwell.

Not the people who say that if Eric and Samira are romantic in the movie A Quiet Place that would be a predatory relationship ?!

How can we be so off base ?!

So personally, whether it was me, my friends, or my own parents, they did not perceive this relationship as platonic, for us there is clearly a romantic undertone between the characters and if you only saw friendship in it, very well it is.

That's just as valid, but pretending the idea makes you uncomfortable because of the age gap ?!

That if the relationship is romantic it is a representation of a predatory relationship ?!

WTF ?!

Eric is an adult, fuck you !

We are dealing with two adult characters.

And even if the film assumed something unambiguously romantic or not, it wouldn't be anything like a predatory relationship, I'm sick of these puritanical assholes, they need to get treatment after a while.

Ice cream before 11 was definitely his guilt about moving showing. the last thing he had wanted to do was uproot his own little family and come back home but it seemed like fingers were snapped and Eric was expected to come running. Even now that he was an adult in every sense of the word. As he walked, the little blonde boy beside him, Eric licked at his cone, stopping in his tracks when he saw the familiar face that had barely aged since he had last seen her. At least.... from what he remembered of a lot of those nights. “You know, it’s kind of strange seeing you without a drink in your hand,” He tried to joke.
