Despite it being only two days ago, Ariel was still dizzy with glee from the Valentine’s gala. She’d had such a good time that she was just itching for another event already, but the likelihood of that wasn’t very big. Still, she could dream about what was to come. The weather had been perfect for heading out: not too hot, and not too cold; she could even drive a little and go to the beach again if she really wanted to. But what she’d learned from her year at Astra was that the best things were unexpected, and she was in no position to question that when it had worked so well for her all this time. She was gathering her things and stuffing them into her backpack when she heard the click of keys unlocking her dorm, making her raise her brows in question. She stepped back hesitantly, bracing herself for the worst if need be.
