Ernst KLIMT (1864-1892) Poster “Exhibition for Music and Theatre” - on view at the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna - MAK. Gustav KLIMT, Erich KLIMT and Franz MATSCH founded 1881 the “Künstler-Compagnie”. The “Compagnie” designed, among other things, curtain and ceiling paintings for theaters (Reichenberg, Karlsbad, Fiume, 1885 ceiling paintings in the Vienna Hermesvilla, 1886–1888 the ceiling frescoes in the two staircases of the new Burgtheater and in 1891/1892 the spandrel and intercolumn pictures in the staircase of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna.
