I was always very physical, growing up, and did sports. I like to get out and do different things, and walk in different shoes. I like change. I like challenge.

We can all be strong and do it a hundred different ways. It’s a really important representation for women to know they can be themselves. You don’t necessarily need a suit to fight crime. You don’t need to be the patriarchal definition of strong to be strong .”

“I don’t think Felicity really wants a [superhero] suit. We’ve got to give respect to her that she loves her computer. She really does and she is a hero behind that.  I do believe that she feels like she is a hero there and she’s playing her part. Just because she doesn’t have a suit doesn’t mean she can’t kick ass.”

“Looking back on [getting the role of Felcity], it was just a whirlwind at first, and it’s still a dream come true. It was episode three of Season 1 where I went and auditioned for the part. It was a "possibly recurring” role, but possible doesn’t end up happening a whole lot – or ever. [Laughs] So when I got a recurring role, I was really excited and just crying and happy. I got to keep coming back, and I cannot express to you how much I’ve been able to learn working on the show and growing with Felicity. I’ve never been able to grow with a character for this long – across three seasons! !”

“Growing up, I always wanted to do everything. I wanted to experience everything and I will never understand why there is not enough time in the day to do what I want ...
