"CONTEMPLATION, CLARITY, RESILIENCE"
by Eric Okdeh
Philadelphia artist Eric Okdeh has been creating murals for more than two decades, and after studying at Temple University's @TylerArtandArchitecture he decided to focus exclusively on public art. Okdeh has now completed more than 80 public art commissions throughout Philadelphia and beyond, but also makes time to teach mural making to the city's youth as well as inmates at SCI Graterford Prison. Okdeh also spent a year engaged by Kirkbride Center, working with more than 100 residents in recovery and using art to create personal narratives of transformation. Working with Philadelphia's @MuralArts program in 2016 to create this Chestnut St mural about the three phases of recovery, Okdeh included many elements from those narratives. @okdehmurals/
